10 Things to Smile About December

We’re now at not only the end of the month but the end of the year. How did we get here, it just seems like it was January 1st. But it’s time to link up with EmmyMom with her 10 Things to Smile about mem so here we go, in no particular order:

1. Our 2014 Christmas Tree. Baby Girl has already walked her walker over and started playing with her ornaments or the lights or the tree :). I hate to say it but I absolutely LOVE it!

2. We helped with Newton County Christmas 4 Kids. Not nearly enough, but we did get to help!

Christmas Day

So I feel like Christmas (Christmas Eve) was a whirlwind this year. Not only did it cyclone in but dang, it went away as fast as it came in :(. That makes me sad. I was a bit of a scrooge this year and I don’t really know why. Anyway we woke up at 7am to start opening presents. So Brittin sent me this picture and said her husband caught Santa making an appearance at their house…

He made an appearance at our house too though. There were 3 cookies on that plate when we went to bed and half a cup of milk.

Christmas Eve

Okay so this is going to be photo heavy. I have to break it into Christmas Eve and Christmas Day anyway… I don’t want a weeks worth of posts to get through Christmas, so please just know that I enjoy photos and chalk it up to that :).

The Sunday before Christmas our friend Carlene brought the girls over presents for Christmas. This is not only baby girl’s first Christmas but it was also her first presents! How exciting! And her favorite part? The paper :). They got her a light up sea horse that sings to her and a teething bird toy. Tbug got a KC Chiefs Sweatshirt!! Thank you Dan & Carlene!!

Then we went to Sunday Night Dinner. Just before we left Earl gave the girls their presents too. Isn’t this how you open presents?

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen – Ft. Worth, TX

Normally when we go to Ft. Worth we eat Mexican food pretty much for every meal… or at least TexMex. I mean you’re in Texas after all, right? This year was different though… I mentioned that we always eat at the same places when we’re down there so my mom made it a point for us to eat at different places.

The last night we were there, after the finals were over, we were trying to figure out where to go have dinner when it was suggested to go to Pappadeaux. Now there’s a couple, but we wound up at the seafood kitchen. Not being a huge fan of seafood I told them no problem, I’d find something to eat which I did.

We entered the restaurant and they seated us. Said it had been a crazy night. When the waitress got to our table and we asked how she was (after she asked us of course) she told us not very good she’d been lied to. Then the service wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t outstanding either. I have a feeling she was told she could go home and then they seated someone at her table? But I’m just guessing.

Macaroni Grill – Ft. Worth Texas

So a restaurant in Ft. Worth that is very near and dear to my heart is Macaroni Grill. Why you may ask, especially because it’s a chain restaurant, Well… when I was younger, in fact the first year I showed at the AQHYA Worldshow we ate here. I absolutely LOVE Italian food. This restaurant is on University Drive just down from the Will Rogers Coliseum.  Perfect in my opinion :).

When we got there they brought water to the table for everyone. We hadn’t had anything to drink for a while so we all gobbled up the water but look how cute their water jugs are they left on the table.
