Reuben Rolls

Last night was our monthly dive club meeting. At the February meeting we talked about having St. Patrick style food at our March meeting. Wednesday we decided (because we couldn’t remember what was decided at the Feb meeting…. woops!) we’d do Corned Beef and Cabbage. YUM! And let me say that Abug loved it too!

Anyway I was trying to figure out what to make that would also work as St. Paddy’s day food (or is it Patty’s? I think Paddy…. anyway)… Hubby really likes Reuben’s so why not Reuben rolls?

Valentine’s Day Weekend

It was a Valentine’s Day weekend. Now… if you know, the hubs proposed to me on the 12th of February 6 years ago, so it usually turns into a multi day thing. That’s just how it is. And 6 years ago when he proposed, it was on a Friday and Valentine’s Day was on a Sunday. That weekend however we found ourselves in Branson at a Cheerleading competition.…

Anyway this year Valentine’s Day weekend started off with lunch with my dad and my husband followed by coming home to a present 🙂

Thanksgiving 2015

If there’s one thing that hubby and I have come to love to do, it’s preparing a Thanksgiving turkey. Obviously if we go somewhere, that’s great too, but when we get the opportunity, we jump on it.

This year was one of those years. So a couple weeks before Thanksgiving we made out our menu, planned out our plan of execution, made out the shopping list, and cleaned house. Cleaning house included rearranging some too… we invited 16 people to our humble little abode so we needed to make sure we had room to set up tables. Easy Peasy! Yup, Abug was helping daddy move the old desk out of the living room :).

We were able to get Tbug on Tuesday night. Tuesday afternoon Abug and I started working on one of the desserts, a recipe that my aunt makes when we go to her house. This cake is awesome! Chocolate, chocolate ganache, a praline topping, what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, there were like 6 other options for Thanksgiving…. (and ignore my fashion sense, remember, there’s a reason I’m not a fashion blogger!)
