I'm hooked on Revolt Now Fitness

I have to tell you, this whole Revolt thing has caused me to feel better about myself.  I usually can’t wait to come home and see what that days workout is and try it.  My husband says that he can even see a difference in the way I look and I can definitely notice a difference in the way I feel.

I was even excited to go shopping for new jeans today.  That says something right?

@boomerbear

Everyone has to find something that works for them.  I definitely think that Revolt works for me!  Day 34… yup, I’m still hooked!

If you decide to check it out, let me know.  And if you have any questions, let me know that too!

Hopefully this is reassuring

Sometimes we wonder,
‘What did I do to deserve this?’ or ‘Why did God have to do this to me?’
Here is a wonderful explanation!
A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she’s failing algebra, her boyfriend
broke up with her and her best friend is moving away. Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and
asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, ‘Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.’
‘Here, have some cooking oil,’ her Mother offers. ‘Yuck’ says her daughter..
‘How about a couple raw eggs?’ ‘Gross, Mom!’ ‘Would you like some flour then?
Or maybe baking soda?’ ‘Mom, those are all yucky!’
To which the mother replies:
‘Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the
right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why
He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things
all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all
make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you.
He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He’ll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe,
and He chose your heart.
If you like this, send this on to the people you really care about.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

Who’d a thunk it?

Pretend this is white & not yellow!!

love this idea (saw it on Rachael Ray)! Did you know that you can use a regular white onion (peeled and sliced in half), to treat a burn!
No more buying expensive aloe vera gel (or the cheapy stuff) – just keep an onion on hand!
So here’s how to use an onion to treat a burn:

  • Use a freshly cut onion and squeeze the juices onto the burn
  • Use the onion as soon as you cut it – otherwise it loses its’ healing properties
  • Keep it on the burn for as long as you need – until you feel the pain decreasing or going away

Only use this for first or second degree burns. Do not try this for third degree burns as those require medical attention!

Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que – Rogers, AR

Sometimes I think my mom has the coolest job in the world.  Her job takes her all over the country and the world really and she gets to experience all these amazing restaurants.  Last Friday {Good Friday} she was on an airplane home from China, yes the country.  We picked her up at the airport and she was sooo ecstatic to eat American food that we decided to go try out Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que in Rogers.

I must admit, I’ve never eaten at a Famous Dave’s before.  When I was looking up the address for the one we ate at, I actually found out that they have them all over the place, so you should definitely check it out!

Brussels Sprouts Can be good, who knew?!?!

Even just a few years ago if you’d have said the word yummy with the word Brussels Sprouts I would have looked at you like you had lost your mind.  Then my friend Early showed me how to make them.  Holy cow I can’t stay away from them!

Originally she makes them in the oven, but one day she tried it over the stove and I much prefer them this way.

Simple you half your Brussels Sprouts or quarter depending on their size and how big you prefer them to be.  Put them over medium to medium high heat in a skillet with olive oil.  Make sure to douse them in salt and pepper.  That’s the key and then cook them until they get a brown color to them.

That’s it.

And I shouldn’t probably tell this, but they aren’t half bad served at room temperature… Don’t ask how I know this please!

Stuffed Jalapeno {with cream cheese, bacon & cheddar} Stuffed Chicken Breast

Ok I seriously have a thing for cream cheese stuffed Jalapenos wrapped in bacon!  But stuffed inside a chicken breast?  OMG!  I might actually really be in love with this (don’t worry hubby, I’m still in love with you too!)!  It was so friggin yummy I can’t even begin to describe to you!  This is seriously a life changer.

What you need:
3 Jalapeno’s seeded & Diced
4 oz Cream Cheese
6 pieces of bacon (or more or less depending, I went more so I went with 6 but you could do as little as 3)
and like 3 handfuls of Cheese.  maybe 4 oz….
Mix that all together and set aside.

Next you’ll need 6 pieces of chicken breast that you pound out really thin.  Just think, if you have a bad day at work, take your frustrations out on the poor chicken… lol.

Once you have pounded it out thin, then put 2-3 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture on the middle of the chicken and roll up the chicken securing with toothpicks

Next you’ll need about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Extra Virgin Olive oil mixed with the juice of a lime (or about 3-4 tbsp).  Dip the chicken in the EVOO/Lime Juice Mixture, then dip in bread crumbs* making sure to coat completely.  Spray your pan with cooking spray so the chicken doesn’t stick and then place your chicken seam side down in the pan.  When you’re finished, top the chicken with a coat of cooking spray.  Place in a 425 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

And you have a cream cheese stuffed jalapeno with bacon stuffed inside chicken breast.  Serve up with your favorite side dish.

And you have dinner!

*I made my own bread crumbs.  Super simple.  Put bread in the oven on a low temperature (300-325 degrees, just think low and slow) and let the bread dry out.  Once the bread is completely dried out, cool and then place in a Food Processor or a blender.  Now you can add Italian Seasoning or other seasonings to season the way you prefer or leave regular.  Then blend/process up and you have homemade bread crumbs.

        Easter Twenty Thirteen

Sunday morning I got up early to make the cake I was taking to my parents house.  Earlier in the week I’d received an email from Kraft and it talked about carrot cake.  I got it in my head I wanted a Carrot Cake and I wasn’t going to shut up about it until I made one :).  So that’s the dessert we took.  Holy yum.  Anyway….

While I was working on preparing the cake hubby was serenading me with all kinds of different songs.

        [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hPROlpOdQU]

Sadly we didn’t make it to church this year which really bothers me more than you’d know!

Around 11:30 we headed to my parents house for Easter dinner.  When we got there, my dad was off riding Mini Me so hubby ran out to the barn and saddled up KG.  About that time dad came back and they headed off down the driveway together.

My mother in law showed up and mom and she talked away in the house while I went out and sat on the deck enjoying the 60 degree weather and the book I’m reading, Coincidence of Callie and Kayden.  While I was sitting on the deck I had a bird land on my head.  I was completely taken off guard and cracked up laughing.  I’ve never had anything like that happen and I couldn’t even get a picture…

About the time my dad and hubby got back from their ride, mom was putting the finishing touches on lunch.

While the glaze for the ham was hanging out, melding together on the stove….

Mom made an appetizer of cheese dip.  There is a restaurant in Tulsa that we go to just for the cheese dip and we tried to recreate it.  We didn’t quite get there, but this was GOOD!

Mom said you can’t have Easter without Sweet Potatoes.

The eggs that Tbug and I decorated last year were part of her table decoration.

Oh boy does that ham look yummy!

Mashed potatoes, you know, for those of us who don’t care much for sweet potatoes, and yes I tried a sweet potato.

Hubby loves Deviled eggs so mom made him some.

And the carrot cake I made.  Holy yum!

After lunch hubby went outside to play with Snookums a bit.  Boy is she ever so dirty and hairy, but after he was finished she looked much better!  I had my big camera out (although all these photos were with my iPhone) and she was extremely interested in having her photo taken.

While hubby pestered worked on Snookums, I went into the round pen and stalked out Pi, trying to get just the right shot. Freckles wasn’t having it, so I took my time and they’d calm down a bit and I’d inch closer.  I still haven’t looked at the photos on my camera yet to see what I got.  I would have gotten even closer had SOMEONE (not naming any names dad) decided he needed to feed hay and the tractor got them all excited again.

After we left mom and dad’s, we headed over to our second families home, Uncle B and TC. (TC is Pokey’s sister.)  Just as we got there Har and Len were leaving so we had to give them fits about leaving when we showed up.

        Baby D sporting the Sunnies.

Baby D’s cute tractor.  it comes complete with flashing lights and sounds.  Very sweet!

And Pokey was taking after Har and getting a little snooze in.  At first he was snoring, but then it was more like he was talking.  It was quite funny and we so should have video’ed him!

After that we headed to Pokey & Earl’s to hang out.  I sat in the house reading this book that I can’t put down, yes I was being lazy, while they were outside burning who knows what, cleaning the yard so Earl can mow this week.

Today though, it’s sleeting.  Yey for the moisture but I doubt she’ll get to mow today at least :).
