When I say I Do

Someone said something to me the other day that just hit me as odd. The statement made, “When you get married you become an instant mommy, how cool is that?!?!” That hit me as odd… and I’ll explain. When I first started dating Prince Charming, I knew he had a daughter. A couple of weeks after our first date I actually got to meet his daughter. About a month later she came to my house and met my parents and grandparents. Things progressed along. The first part of September Prince Charming’s grandmother passed away and I was there for him during the process of helping his mom and her family get the funeral arrangements made. Tbug happened to be there that weekend. We drove in to meet at the funeral parlor for the visitation and the funeral director was there. Prince Charming’s mom was doing introductions and Tbug introduced me as her mommy. We all let it slide for that moment but in the next couple of weeks when she’d refer to me as that we’d tell her that for now, I was just dating her dad because at that time I was extremely gun shy. I’d just come out of a long relationship and I wasn’t even telling people I was dating Prince Charming. It was more I’d gone on a few dates which I guess technically is “dating” but still remember I was Gun Shy!!

So in February when he proposed and I said yes one of the following weekends Tbug was like so now you are closer to being my mommy. We were like yes I’ll be your stepmom or mommy. I’m not going to make her call me anything, whatever she wants to call me is fine, as long as she doesn’t call me bad names… then we might have problems… LOL. But she’s met a lot of my family, not all because not everyone lives around her, but she’s met a lot of them and they all say the same thing, she could pass as my daughter… LOL. And another great thought, we’ll all have the same last name :).

So when a friend made the comment you become an instant mommy, it did hit me weird. I knew I was getting a husband and he had a daughter but for whatever reason, it never hit me that I would become that, even with Tori saying all that. No big deal, when I say “I do” I’m adding 2 of the most special people into my life and I’m fine with that!! (more…)

Road Trip

Thursday when we headed to Tuckasee (they are right on the state line every so many miles you jump states 🙂 so we were in Kentucky and Tennessee) I started the license plate game although instead of being against each other, we worked together. We thought it’d be cool to get all 50 states. I thought we did fairly well, we came up with 33 states and 1 Canadian Province.

33 states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming (more…)

Life

Life is crazy sometimes… you just never know what to expect or what might get thrown your way. I would say the life I’ve been dealt is good! There are ups and downs and I claim that it is a roller coaster ride, and I truly believe that’s true. You have your ups, your downs, your twists, and turns. All situations you go through mold you, shape you, to become the person you are and the person that God planned on you being. I don’t think when he created us that he had our whole futures mapped out, I think he had a general direction and our life adapts to the situations we are faced with. We have 2 choices and you go your way, and I believe he knows which way you will go, you can’t get anything past him, he knows all but still, I don’t think he had everything mapped out when he created our individual lives, just a general direction but he knows where we’ll go. Flower Girl Dresses

I told Tbug that I’d take her flower girl dress shopping since she agreed to be our flower girl. On February 27th my mom and I ran to the mall looking for something and while I was waiting on her, in all the stores I went looking for dresses. I figured it was Easter time, our colors being Teal and Brown, those were perfect colors to find around Easter time. I went into JC Penney and I found what I thought was The Dress. My mom said so buy it. I was like, nope, I told Tbug that I would take her dress shopping. Then while still waiting on my mom I found what I thought I wanted shoe wise. I went home that night and talked to Prince Charming. He said why didn’t you buy it. Again I pointed out that I told Tbug we’d go dress shopping. So Sunday, Prince Charming, Tbug, and I loaded up in the car and headed to the mall. We also went to Kohl’s, TJ Formal & David’s Bridal. I figured if I was going to do this, I should do it right and look at all places. We took photos of Tbug in all the dresses and go figure, the dress I thought was the dress, turned out not to be The Dress. It looked too old on her, but we did find the dress and she picked out the shoes (different from the originals).

DWTS – Week 2

Week 2 was filled with the Foxtrot and the Jive. Everyone who did a Latin dance last week did ballroom this week and visa versa. I felt like the wrong person got sent home this week, it was sad to see Shannen leave. I think she had more potential. There was a “melt down” of sorts between Kate & Toni. If Kate was trying to come onto this show to build her self up after the John & Kate Plus 8 thing, this week, she didn’t do a good job. I personally would have liked to have seen her leave but she wasn’t even in the bottom 2. The bottom 2 consisted of Shannen & Pamela Anderson. Oh well, I can’t wait to see what Monday night brings!
