Don’t compare your life to other people’s lives because a blog is only a snippet of their life anyway.
Putting yourself out there will get you negative feedback. Don’t worry about them because the computer screen makes people feel invincible.
Starting your blog when you did documents your whole live with one heck of a fabulous husband… although it could have been fun to start it a couple months earlier.
Blogging is addictive.
Sometimes you will hit writers block, just push through, you’ll be glad you did.
There will be times when you want to call it quits… don’t.
You will find products you didn’t even know existed through blogging. How cool is that? Although sometimes maybe not so much on the ol’ pocketbook.
Your life is documented. You get burned out on scrapbooking, but it’s all there if you ever want to go back and scrapbook it, the information is there!
Blogging will get you through some rough times/hard times in your life. It’s there. Your blog doesn’t judge you. Your blog doesn’t question you. It’s just there with “blank pages” for you to put your thoughts on.
Your husband oddly enough loves your blog. He encourages you to write. He encourages you to keep it going. Yeah he gets annoyed a few times because of it… woops, but he’s there with you every step of the way through it.
I’ve never actually created a Fall Bucket List. Truthfully I’ve never created any kind of a seasonal bucket list. Since the baby girl is here now, why not? I heard one time that when you have a baby you enjoy the holidays even more. My husband and I love holidays but wow, I’m starting to see that that phrase/quote is correct! I can’t wait for the holidays this year! Anyway Fall Bucket List:
Go to a Pumpkin Patch
Play in the leaves
Create our Christmas Card Photo
Go to the NCHA Futurity
Celebrate Halloween
Celebrate Thanksgiving
Enjoy the wonderful fall weather
Finish the accidental sale of our house (stay tuned for more…)
So I’ve been having difficulty with this blog post. Not because I don’t know the answer but more because did I want to take the answer as a joke, serious, random… etc. Immediately 3 things came to mind. If we went serious it would definitely be, My Family!
But if I wanted to be funny… I might add 3 different things to that one category…
1) my iPhone. What can I say, I love to hate it some days… lol… but I like having it if nothing else than to make important phone calls when I’m driving home. We live in a scary world these days and I usually try to let my husband know where I’m at and when I’m leaving.
When I was little I really wanted to be a ballerina on Broadway. I was in Ballet for 10 years and tap for 5 years. I used to want to do jazz as well but I had to choose and I chose Ballet and Tap. One summer I signed up to do a solo dance at a competition and things didn’t work out and I wasn’t able to finish the lessons. I’m not real sure what happened. So my mom told the dance teacher that I would start back in the fall and I never did. I missed it too.
Now as an adult I want to be a writer. I’m not sure if I want to be a professional blogger or I want to write a book or a cookbook or some of all. To try and accomplish my goal, I am now working on a Masters in English with the focus on Professional and Technical Editing.
I have my personal blog here and actually got myself more of a professional blog writing gig for our local Scuba Diving company.
btw… can I become famous so that I can be a star on Dancing with the Stars??
In Theory of Literature we just were discussing Freud’s Id, Super Ego and Ego. If you don’t know what those are… let me explain…
Id is the site of natural desires; it is a dark area of seething passion that knows only desire and has no sense of moderation or limitation.
Superego is an internalized representation of the authority of the father and of society, authority that establishes strict limitations on the fulfillment of the unrestrained desires residing in the id.
Ego moderates between the authoritarian demands of the superego and the unmitigated desires of the id.
So in plain English it basically comes out as this: The id is where you store all the bad things. You want pleasure and that is it’s goal is to get ultimate pleasure. Superego is the strictness inside you that doesn’t allow you to have any fun. The Ego regulates both so you get some pleasure without doing something stupid.
Why am I telling you all of this, especially with the prompt… well because I’d love to tell you how I’d blow it on everything. Here’s what I’d buy…
A new house with a huge kitchen
A brand new Ford King Ranch at least 3/4 ton
and a bunch of other junk…
The practical side of me says that I would invest it all for the future.
Then I realize that I’ll pay off my car because I love my car, maybe buy a dream house, maybe not depending on the amount of money I actually win in the lottery and invest in my girls futures as well as my husband and mine.
And maybe, just maybe go to the beach on a trip because I so desperately want to go swim in the ocean again!
Wow the last Tuesday of September happens to be the last day of the month, that works out very nicely when you’re talking about EmmyMom’s 10 Things to Smile About {Month}.
1. So I’ve been back to reposting our story, but let me tell you that I’ve actually been writing new stuff for when I get there!
Holy cow, where did the month of August go? Seriously?!?! Yesterday (the 28th) would have been my grandpa’s birthday. Boy, I miss him every day! (as well as my other grandma and grandpa… I wish heaven was a place we could visit!). But anyway with the thought that his birthday would have been yesterday means that we are at the end of the month… And at the end of the month, it is time for 10 things to Smile about hosted by EmmyMom.
1. Amendment 1 passed. I was for it passing. I did a lot of research and there was a lot of crap put out there by the wrong people and that is the stuff people wanted to believe. It only passed by 2,500 votes or so, but it passed. That’s what matters!
2. Baby girl had a really bad day but that meant lots of mommy/baby snuggles for me!
3. I’ve found a newfound love for meatloaf. I think I had it 6 times in 3 weeks or something like that. YUM! (more…)
Do you remember back in our/your school days when the cafeteria would serve Meatloaf for lunch? I remember when the kids used to call it Mystery Loaf. I wasn’t ever scared, but maybe that’s because my mom made meatloaf for dinner a lot? Of course I guess they could have been calling it that because you never knew what the school used to make it… I dunno.
A couple weeks ago I was at my grandma’s house. She was helping me finish up a blanket. About the time I went to leave, it was about time for dinner and she started making Meatloaf for her, my uncle and my uncles girlfriend (does that sound juvenile?). She made some extra and sent home for us to have for dinner as well. Since then I’ve kind of been feeling the Meatloaf. We’ve had it twice since then. I thought I’d share how I made tonight’s meatloaf which was a bit different because I had to substitute ingredients I didn’t have for ingredients I did. Let me just say… YUM!
Ingredients: 1lb hamburger 1/4-1/2 of an onion depending on the size and how much you like onion 2 tbsp Italian Seasoning 1/3 Cup Milk 1/2 sleeve Ritz Crackers (I used the Garlic Butter flavored) 1 Egg Salt & Pepper
Crush your crackers. I used my fist because they crumble easily but you can use a pan or a meat mallet or whatever you need. It’s a great release if you’ve had a terrible day!
Place all your ingredients in a bowl along with the hamburger.
I went with half a medium onion. We like cooked onions… If you aren’t big into the onions, you might cut back a bit.
Once you mix it all up, place in a loaf pan and place in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
Once the oven time goes off, make up your own bbq sauce or use a store bought. I made my own: Ingredients: 1/2 cup ketchup a couple big handfuls of brown sugar a tsp of dried Mustard A splash of hot sauce depending on how spicy you like it.
Mix all ingredients together and spread over the top of the meatloaf. Then place the meatloaf back in the oven for 10 minutes.
Once the timer goes off, give your meatloaf a couple minutes to rest and serve with your favorite side dish. We went with extra crispy tator tots (we had to take care of an explosive diaper situation… so the tots got extra crispy).
Did anyone realize today is the last Tuesday of July? Wow I didn’t until just now when I was reading through blog posts and saw EmmyMom’s Post… which is why I’m writing this… to link up with her 10 things to smile about in July.
1. It really has made me happy to get the little rugrats birth story written up. I was afraid I’d forget parts and not going to lie, hubby had to help me through some of it. Yikes! (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6)
2. Sleep. I know that sounds funny but what sleep I get I’m really happy about! Learning to run on lack of sleep has been interesting!
5. Baby snuggles. Who doesn’t like baby snuggles? I truly didn’t think I was a baby person but this little one is bringing me around. (part of my not being was I never was raised up around babies. I was the youngest one)
6. We finally got all the hay done for the first cutting. We had a nightmare getting to that point. The tractor has issues, the mower broke a couple times, the big baler broke and caught on fire twice, the square baler had issues… oy! Then we borrowed a tractor that got a flat tire twice. Fun stuff. All in the middle of that we had a baby.
