Who'd play you in a movie | Blogtober '14

Truthfully if someone were to play me in the movies, I want an no-named actress who will get her big break and would be known as me. Example: Katherine Heigl is in a lot of movies so yes she might draw people to the box office, but I think casting her as Stephanie Plum in One for the Money was a bad mistake. If they were to make any of the other novels into a book, a) she might not play Stephanie Plum the next time but b) she’s more so known as Izzy Stephens from Grey’s Anatomy. I would want some actress to make her big break playing me, because obviously I’m going to be famous someday and everyone will line up to play me!

Favorite book | Blogtober ’14

Is it a cop-out to say I love a series? I’m not sure I have 1 favorite book, I like lots of different books, and sadly Romance novels are sometimes my favorite types… but I love the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I’m a little behind on reading them… I’m on book 14. Finding time these days among reading classwork is difficult. But I think Hard Eight is so far my favorite book.

Favorite instagram editing apps/ or editing tools for your blog | Blogtober ’14

When it comes to editing my photos…

| Blog |
Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are my go to but sometimes I go to picmonkey.com or ribbet.com depending on what I want to do and what will work best for me.

I’m getting better at Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, it surprises me so much. Especially when the other day at school I actually made my project in PSE.

I surprise myself sometimes :). ha! I got a 93/100 on this assignment. I agree with all the criticism too.

So when I’m on my phone and want to edit a photo… I use one app… That’s Camera+. Now I really like Square ready to make the Instagram ready if I’m uploading photos like my 365 project. I also like the ABM app. And since I’m doing a 365 project, Collect helps keep me on track to remember to take my photos, plus it helps keep them in a calendar.

So there you have it :). What apps am I missing out on??

Your Pet Peeves | Blogtober '14

Being late to the party… oh wait, that’s me today! That is one of my pet peeves although there are days that I am late… oy!

Okay so I hate to admit this but I am a Grammar snob. Yes, I’m from SW MO and sometimes we don’t use the best grammar, me included but still… in my head I correct… or sometimes if it is me talking I correct out loud. Yes you read that correctly, I correct myself out loud in front of people.

When people put themselves first when speaking. It’s not me and blah blah are going somewhere, it’s blah blah and I are going somewhere. I know that makes me sound horrible and I don’t correct people, other than Tbug because I want her to learn it properly. Sometimes I correct some of my friends kids too, sorry! My mom and school teachers always did that to me… it’s kind of programmed into my head.

Then knowing when to use I and when to use me. If it is a picture and you are showing people, you say “Me.” The best way to know the difference… if there are more than one person in the sentence, remove everyone but yourself and say I and say me. Whichever one sounds best, that is what it is… ex: Stacy and I/me are going to the store. Remove Stacy from the setence and say I are (although you’d have to say am) going to the store. Me are (again replace with am, it’s singular) going to the store. I am going to the store sounds better, therefore it is Stacy and I are going to the store.

When people don’t pick up their feet when they are walking. You’re making a lot of unnecessary noise and wearing the heels off your shoes. Now there are times I trip myself up or flip flops are a bit of a different store, so I guess I’m going more with boots…

I feel like I’m complaining a lot. I’m not trying to. Me promise (ha!)

When I feel like I’m being badgered about something. And sadly I do this to my poor dear husband all the time… so that’s like calling the kettle black. Case in point: take those and throw them away. 2 weeks later it is still there. Ack! I’m guilty of this too. Sometimes when I ask him to do something (that was his mess to begin with) I leave it because I’m not a maid. Then I nag and get annoyed and so does he. Ah the joys of married life :).

Okay I could go on and on but I won’t. It makes me sound like a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad person and I try to be a good person. So Happy Wednesday and guess what… I was late for the party :).

Dream Vacation | Blogtober '14

My dream vacation would be to get on a yacht and travel the world. My dream is to see the world. Yes there are countries I don’t want to go to, but there are sooooooo many more countries that I really do want to go to. My dream vacation would be to load up my family and we could just sail off and see the world. I guess maybe it’d have to be a huge yacht to survive some of the weather/waves of the ocean… or maybe I want to backpack across Europe. That sounds like a lot of fun too even though I might be scared to only reduce down to a backpack but I could do it. I could travel lightly. But as you can see I want to see the world. I’ve been to like 24-26 states… I want to go to all. I just want to travel!

Your biggest fear | Blogtober ’14

When it comes to fears, I have a lot of them, not going to lie. I have a fear of snakes. I have a fear of dying and no one remembering me. But one fear of mine kind of became a reality a couple of weeks ago. Wait, what?

I’m afraid of my house catching on fire. Now let me stop you there… My house did not catch on fire! No, the house that I grew up in caught on fire.

My parents were building this house before I was even born and we moved into it when I was 4 months old. There are a lot of great memories in this house.

About the time I was 10 my parents put this house up for sale and no biters. Then a while after that a couple came up from Dallas and offered more for it than what my parent’s original asking price was so they put it up for 30 days so that they could see it to this couple.

I used to show sheep against this couples kids who were a couple of years younger than me. I eventually went on to working with one of the kids for a bit. They eventually sold the house and moved back to Dallas (returning to this area a few years after that but to a different house). And a family friend’s daughter and her family bought the house. Do you follow? I know the owners of the house, let’s put it that way.

A couple of weeks ago (Oct 7th) they were woke up by their dogs barking and their house on fire. Just typing that gives me chills. Everyone got out of the house safely except for one dog (I’m not sure how many dogs were in the house), but the house was completely gone.

I saw a post on Facebook the next morning and wondered what happened so my husband and I drove by to check on them and things. I had to get to school though and there were a lot of people there but I know that they were all safe and that’s what matters.

What makes you happy | Blogtober '14

What makes me happy? Good question… All while I was thinking about this question last night I was thinking of the Julie Andrews Song from the Sound of Music when she’s thinking “These are a few of my favorite things.” I tried long and hard to figure out how to get my happy things into those song lyrics. Then I started thinking of the “If you’re happy and you know it” song and well…. that probably suites this better… happy versus favorite but either way I’ll save you and just tell you my happy things which include but are not limited to:

  • My husband
  • The Tbug and Baby Girl
  • My family
  • New Pens (so trivial but….)
  • My camera (again trivial)
  • My new camera bag
  • Riding and showing horses
  • My dogs
  • Cooking
  • Blogging
  • Traveling
  • Snuggling on cold/cooler days

And there are a lot of other things… but here are just a few of my favorite… I mean happy things 🙂

Happy Sunday! Look at the beautiful sky that God painted for us this week! 🙂

Share A Secret About You | Blogtober '14

Shhhh don’t tell anyone, but babies used to scare me! I’m not kidding. I am an only child and was the youngest on both sides of the family. My parents were a bit older when I was born so all their friends had older children so I wasn’t raised around babies… I was raised around adults or older kids who wanted to be adults. So babies scared the crap out of me. I think I’ve only held like a handful or 2 of babies in my life prior to my own baby and she only adds 1 to that number. I’d never changed a diaper until I was in the hospital having baby girl… never been spit up on, pooped on by babies (animals yes)… babies scared the crap out of me.

There I told you my secret. Can we still be friends?

I'm an expert at… | Blogtober '14

Procrastinating 🙂

Does that count? I swear, I am the worlds worst, maybe not the worst but I’m fairly bad about it.

When I asked my husband his first answer was Blogging and second kissing your husband. Think he was looking for a kiss? Don’t worry I gave him one.

Baby girl says I’m an expert at feeding her and changing her diaper… ha!

My husband always claims that he’s a Jack of all Trade, master of None. At work they used to tease me because I’ve dove into learning a bunch of different things. Maybe that’s why he and I are so perfect for each other 🙂

I don’t know… btw, let me point out that I wrote a guest post over at the Missouri Women Bloggers
