Hubby's Smoked Cabbage

Ok so one of my favorite side dishes that hubby does in the smoker is his smoked cabbage.  It’s super simple, super affordable and super yummy.

1 head of cabbage.  Rough chop it up and get it off of the root.  (Is that what it’s called, you know the core, the center, that hard thing you don’t eat)

Liberal with the pepper.  Probably 1/8-1/4 of a cup.

Liberal with the season salt.  Hubby usually uses Lowery’s season salt.  Not sure it matters, that’s just what he always uses.  You’re looking about about 1/4 cup.

And lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of butter.  We usually get a tub of Country Crock and use about half the tub.

Then place it in a 225 degree smoker for about 2 1/2 hours.

And there you have it.  The finished product.  OMG, this thing is super yummy.  Anytime he asks if I have any suggestions for big get togethers, this is usually my choice.
