I meant every word "they" said!

You know… the trouble with a good country song is most times
they say how I feel… they just say it first.

So? Does it make me sound like an idiot when I quote lyrics?

I’ll love you till I die, you are the love of my life… and I’m
so glad you found me you are the love of my life… so put your arms around me..
I guess this is how it feels… when you finally found something real… my angel
in the night you are my love… the love of my life, everything I do I do it for
you, tell that someone that you love just what you’re thinking of if tomorrow
never comes, I’ll take you for a ride on my big green tractor ;), oh love oh
love oh the many colors that you’re made of… you heal… you bleed… you’re the
simple truth and you’re the biggest mystery, I love you more than you’ll ever
know, I don’t wanna be loved by anybody but you.

There is no end to the love I have for my wife. This next
set of lyrics pretty much sums her up.

(She’s Everything) “Brad Paisley”
She’s a yellow pair of running shoes
A holey pair of jeans
She looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in ANYTHING
She’s I want a piece of chocolate
Take me to a movie
She’s I can’t find a thing to wear
Now and then she’s moody
She’s a Saturn “Elantra” with a sunroof
With her brown hair a-blowing
She’s a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She’s a warm conversation
That I wouldn’t miss for nothing
She’s a fighter when she’s mad
And she’s a lover when she’s loving
And she’s everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
I talk about her, I go on and on and on
‘Cause she’s everything to me
She’s a Saturday out on the town
And a church girl on Sunday
She’s a cross around her neck
And a cuss word ’cause its Monday
She’s a bubble bath and candles
Baby come and kiss me
She’s a one glass of wine
And she’s feeling kinda tipsy
She’s the giver I wish I could be
And the stealer of the covers
She’s a picture in my wallet
and my unborn children’s mother
She’s the hand that I’m holding
When I’m on my knees and praying
She’s the answer to my prayer
And she’s the song that I’m playing
And she’s everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
I talk about her, I go on and on and on
‘Cause she’s everything to me
She’s the voice I love to hear
Someday when I’m ninety
She’s that wooden rocking chair
I want rocking right beside me
Everyday that passes
I only love her more
Yeah, she’s the one
That I’d lay down my own life for
And she’s everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She’s everything to me
Yeah she’s everything to me
Everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She’s everything to me

Baby I love you with all my heart, when I screw up just
remember that. My love for you grows with each passing day and I just wanted to
take this opportunity to tell you that that’s what I’m thinking of, if tomorrow
never comes.

Why do I blog?

if you know where I found this, please let me know so I can credit it!

I would be lying if I said that sometimes I feel down, I guess you could say when I don’t get many comments.  I know it is stupid and I shouldn’t be writing for the comments, but sometimes I love the feedback.  The comments bring a smile to my face.  And I love when I can email the person back and tell them a little more about something (ie the bed) or I can say thank you (pretty much a lot of of them), I love to impart wisdom (haha),   Sometimes I actually like to impart actual wisdom (like nutrition class stuff) and of course funny stories are great (there’s a restaurant, or the infamous farting photo) sometimes I vent (like about my car speaker), and we all know I obviously love to cook (duh look here), etc.

I’m real.  I’m honest.  I’m me.

I read blogs and I see they have big numbers of followers and sometimes I feel down on my blog.  I wonder what I can do to get increased numbers.  I wonder what I can do to make people want to read what I write about.  I know I follow more blogs than the number who actually follow me and I definitely comment on more than comment on mine.  Then I wonder, why?  What am I doing wrong?

Then I think about 2 things… the loyal fan base (haha does that make you groupies?) I do have and I ask myself why do you write anyway?

I write some of this to remember things.  I write some because, well it’s funny.  I write some because I have an aunt who reads.  I write because I have a heavy heart.  I write because I have exciting news.  I write some of it because I just love to write.

I wish I could say I was like a lot of you and I got the reading bug when I was younger, but it didn’t really hit me until the first summer out of college (2005).  Yeah I have a lot of catching up to do with you guys!  Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum series is what did it for me.  I’ve been hooked since!

But I have always loved to write.  I’ve had numerous journals, tried to write short stories and even took a short story writing class in college.  If you were to ask me what I truly want to be… my answer would be an author.  I want to write books.  I just haven’t quite figured out how to get there… yet.  But remember my quote I stumbled across a while back (found here)

“If it is possible I will do it .  If it is impossible, it will take me a little longer.”

I truthfully believe that quote.

In fact, I went to college the first time with the pursuit of an Agriculture Journalist degree, but then immediately changed to Agriculture Education because I figured I’d have a wider background in more areas.  But I did take the Ag. Journalist class in college.

See Writing is my passion I guess.  So some days I get down about few or even no comments, but I remember I do have my loyal readers and someday… someday I’ll be big… and you can all say you knew me when I was whining about no comments… LOL 🙂

I sincerely want to say Thank you!  I love you all 🙂  Now I’ll quite whining and no I don’t want any cheese with my whine!

Fast & Furious Weekend

Boy this weekend seemed like it came and went in the blink of an eye!

I think I would be lying if I said it didn’t hurt my feelings that A&P was canceled Thursday night.  You know the real kicker of it all?  I go straight to the school from work so I always get there about an hour and 10 minutes before class starts.  I beat the teacher and most all students there usually unless I go goof off somewhere… So I got there and sat in my car for 20 minutes reading so I didn’t have to sit in the hallway reading… So I walk into the building 20 minutes after I got there and there was this sign to greet me.  Nice!

Friday night hubby and I watched Grey’s Anatomy!  Oh. My. Gosh.  When it was almost over he asked me if it was the season finale, yeah it was that intense!

Then Saturday morning we got up to head over to Tbug’s Cheer exhibition when we found out my nephew got his first deer.  He was super excited.  It’s an 8 point buck.  First one he’s ever gotten!

Then we ran to the exhibition to watch Tbug perform.

Then went out to lunch with my parents and my mother in law (and of course Tbug) and then the girls went shopping and the boys went home to work on the trailer breaks for my dad’s horse trailer.

I got to see my cousin who moved to Maine in 2004 and meet both her little kids for the first time Saturday afternoon then we ran to our house to get changed and ready for a benefit I got tickets for.

On our way out the door, the pups wanted to play and Marli cracked me up by carrying this dish around.

The benefit was called Tiara’s, Tuxes & Tillis.  The benefit was for Ascent however we won the tickets through a fundraiser for United Way…

We got our picture taken with Miss Missouri 2011 also.  Oh goodness is she beautiful.  Hubby laughed at me b/c at first I was like, I don’t want my picture taken with her, she’s too tall and gorgeous.  I don’t want to be the chump in the picture!  We wound up getting to sit with another couple from work who won tickets the same way.  The funniest part about that is I was emailing this gal (she works in security) all week last week, so I finally got to put a name with a face.

Here is the center piece that was at all the tables.  Ok so this was taken with my iPhone and doesn’t do it justice at all.  They were GORGEOUS!

When we got there we got appetizers of this awesome smoked chicken dip, cheese, chips, crackers, chocolate covered strawberries & Sparkling Grape juice.  Then dinner was as you see below.  Let me tell you how good it was!

As we were driving home I got on facebook just to see if there was anything I missed (lol) and saw this lol cat.  I cracked up laughing so I thought I’d share with you :).  You’re welcome!

Then as you know (I’ve said before) we have a berm house, so we have a lot of concrete walls to deal with.  In our kitchen we had a concrete wall that the previous owner painted purple.  Now purple is my favorite color, but that wall really didn’t do a whole lot for me and I decided I wanted a brick looking wall.  So for my Christmas present from my parents they made my look come true!  Thank you mom & dad!!!  We only have one sheet up so far, it had to dry first so my house is now back to a mess (had to move the kitchen table) but it looks so awesome so far!  Tbug, hubby and I put the first panel up.

Then hubby went back out hunting last night and I took Tbug back to her mom.  As I was driving to Sunday night dinner I got a text pic from hubby, he got his deer.  So I ran to our house to get some things he needed, ran by Perky & Early’s to tell them we won’t be there after all and headed to my Mother-in-law’s to see hubby’s deer.

After we left my MIL’s house, we went to P&E’s house to chat for a bit, then went home, took showers & ate dinner.  Then went to bed.

It sure feels like all we did was run this weekend!  But what’s different than any other weekend really?  How was your weekend?

That's My Job

One year ago we lost my grandfather.  He was a GREAT man!  This was the song that was played at his funeral.  I can’t even begin to tell you how much I miss him.  Words can just not explain!

Conway Twitty’s That’s My Job explains my grandfather so well!

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz…….

Ok let me first off start by saying,

To all the veterans out there who have so bravely fought for our Freedom
And let’s not forget about all of those who are currently serving to keep those freedoms ours!  Please take a minute to say a prayer for their safety!

And while I grumble about not wanting to get out of beds in the morning because it’s to cold or to early, I say a quick thank you and ask for your safety.  Thank you for allowing me to sleep in peace at night!  Thanks is definitely not enough for your braveness! And I’ll say a quick prayer to for your families who are without you as well!

*****************

I’m not in the mood to get out of bed in the mornings now.  Of course I’m sure you all know by now, I’m more of a summer person, cold weather is not for me!

The only floors in our house that are carpeted are the 3 bedrooms, otherwise it’s tile and hardwood floors for us.  Makes it easy to keep clean really, but when it’s cold in the house and you step down on those floors, brrrr!  In fact our bathroom has stone flooring.. it’s even colder!

If I knew where my house slippers were, I might not complain, as much… LOL :).  Speaking of house slippers, I used to have these big purple fuzzy ones and when my pup Morelli (who still is at my parents) was a puppy, he could fit in the pocket of my hoodies, anyway he’d grab that big ole purple house slipper and take off running with it, it was hilarious.  I wish I had photos but I think I laughed way to much about it.

Anyway I’m getting side tracked.  Yesterday I showed you a photo of this bed.

I work for a company who we basically call ourselves “the components people”.  We mostly manufacture components for home & office and even your cars.  Yup, probably somewhere in your daily life you are affected by something my company makes. {well it’s not my company but the one I work for, you know what I mean}

So one of our divisions was challenged a few years back to come up with a concept bed.  They had a meeting, threw out every design, feature, function, and more that they’d like to see in a bed and then sat down to create it.

I think it took them something like 4 months to create this particular bed.

Now when you first look at it, you might think…. um… ok?  Don’t worry, I’ve heard about it since it came out and a few weeks ago when I actually got to see it, I kind of had the same thoughts… ok?? so what’s the big deal?…  But wait until you hear some of the things this bed will do for you :).

First off, I should tell you that this bed is run off remote control.  Yes, one more remote you have to keep track of.. ha!  At one point they were going to create the technology to run it off an iPhone but decided that that wouldn’t be feasible in upkeep costs… ha!

So this tv off to the side, is your menu.  Yes, that menu is larger than some people’s tv’s but whatever 🙂 if you are going to go, why not go all out!  Remember, this is a concept bed, it was a way to get creative juices flowing for people to see just what you could make a bed do for you!

Now it has a tv projection system in it.

That means if you want to watch tv, you watch it theater style.  Sorry this photo is dark, all these photos were taken with my iPhone, but the projection system comes out of the headboard as well as speakers for that good surround sound effect!

You also get speakers that come out of the foot of the bed.  Remember, we want Surround sound people!

The bed itself was I think was a queen sized mattress (I can’t quite remember but that’s what it looks like) but it was basically like two twin beds put side by side.  That way if you wanted to sit up and read for instance but your spouse/significant other wanted to lay down, you could both be comfortable.

Now look at the wall… yes, that says Romance Mode.

If you place this on Romance Mode, it drops one bed completely flat, turns on a vibration mechanism in the bed, turns the wall sconces on to red mood lighting and get this… belts out the song, “Let’s Get it On,” on the speakers.  Oh yeah, I’m sure the kids will see that one coming… LOL 🙂

Now don’t worry if your bedroom doesn’t have a wall plug in close enough for your phone.  Heck why not, as long as you have an iPhone or iPod, just plug it into the bed to charge.  Seriously people, who wants cords strung all across the floor anyway 🙂

As long as you aren’t listening to music from your iPod/iPhone or watching tv/movies the projection system and speakers are in the headboard so nothing happens to them.

Now granted this isn’t a real bedroom, but it is to simulate a real bedroom, so it actually draws the curtains on the wall where your projection system plays once you have it all shut down so you have a nice mood setting with the curtains and don’t have to look at that drab white wall :).

Now you know the age old thing in cars, fighting over the warmness vs coolness?  I’ve now seen vehicles that have dual climate controls.  Have you seen that?  Well I’m not sure about you but when I go to bed, my husband is like a sauna.  That’s good for me who is usually freezing (unless it’s summer maybe) {sorry if you think that last part was tmi}, but he’s always hot so we sleep with a fan on low most times to help keep us both comfortable.

Well this bed, I’m sure you saw it coming has dual climate controls.

You can have your bed set on say 65 degrees and he can have his set on 70, oh wait maybe that’s backwards to most men & women :).  But seriously, those are the climate controls for each mattress and yes, it will cool and heat the mattress to help with your comfort.

Now my husband snores.  Do any of the rest of you experience that with your spouse?  Never fear with this bed.  Once you start snoring in the middle of the night, it will slowly adjust you to the perfect position so that you’ll quit snoring for the best nights rest plus a bonus of not waking your spouse and getting kicked for snoring.  I’m usually the kicker, not the kickee.

Now since this is at one of our branches they had to create an ambiance of a bedroom to give you the full effect.  Here is a gorgeous country landscape that you might possibly see out your window… or in a picture frame 🙂

No I’m not laying on the bed for this shot, just standing next to it.  I didn’t actually get to lay on it and test it out :(.  It might have been fun though… LOL j/k, I think.

Hey there’s the remote laying on the bed.  But anyway this was to show they went all out in setting this up to be a pretty room although when the beds raise and lower, it kind of messes with the pillows… woops!

This was the door you enter into and out of this room by and it actually looks like there is a groove in that door does it not?

Here’s up close.  They just painted the groove in there.  I so need to learn how to do this, just sayin :).  I think that is super awesome.  Yes I’m easily impressed if that’s what you want to call it 🙂

So welcome to the bed of the future :).

It only has a price tag of $50,000.  Who wants to buy me one?

The Thursday Random’s

1.  Boy doesn’t that kind of sound like a newspaper title?

2.  So my car rolled over 10,000 miles yesterday morning as I was pulling in to work.  It kind of made me sad, I’m not gonna lie!

3.  So I have been saying for years I wanted to make a turkey.  At my house we only eat turkey’s on Thanksgiving, well that type of turkey anyway.  This year, I’ll actually get to take my stab at making a turkey.  We aren’t going to my aunt’s house for Thanksgiving which is very sad how that all came to play, but it is what it is and we can’t dwell on things.  Last year I watched PW’s throwdown against Bobby Flay {where she won… heck yeah} and decided then that if I ever got to make a turkey, it would be hers.  So that’s the plans.  Well her turkey has to be brined.  Um… you need a big pan or pot for that, so hubby gave me one of my Christmas presents early.  Isn’t she a beaut?

Reason #1298732 I'm NOT a Vegetarian

I am NOT now nor have I ever been a Vegetarian.

I do NOT now nor have I ever wanted to be a Vegetarian.

I’m not sure I would survive as a vegetarian because, there are a ton of vegetables out there that, well… I’m not sure about.  They might even scare me just a bit.  There I admitted it.

**via**

As a kid, yes I ate vegetables, but I had never heard of Kale & Arugula until I started watching Food Network.  I’ve still never tasted either that I know of… and if I have, well I didn’t know it so I can’t tell you if I liked it or not.  But I’m not opposed to trying it.

The rule in our house is You have to try something 12 times before you can say you don’t like it.  Now maybe that applies more for Tbug than the hubs and me, only because kids taste buds are constantly changing.  Once you are an adult, well yes they still change but not as rapidly as a kids.  I heard somewhere that a kid has to try something 12 times before they can officially say they don’t like it because maybe at taste 1-3 they didn’t but by taste 8 they really do.

Because of our rule, she’s found things she likes that at first thought she turned her nose up to it.  I was that way with green beans.  I swore for YEARS I didn’t like green beans, then one day I tried them and actually liked them.  It was only about 8 years ago.  See, taste buds change.  And sometimes we don’t like something because of how it sounds…

I’ve eaten some weird things… Alligator, turtle, weird types of fish all because of the at least try it rule.  And I won’t lie, I tried sushi with fish eggs on it… I thought I might yak it back up, but I kept it down.  The thought is what turned me off.

But anyway I’ve gotten completely off track… in your diet you have Non essential amino acids needed, which means the body produces them, and you have essential amino acids, which means you have to obtain them through your diet.

All Animal Proteins {meats} provide all Essential Amino Acids your body needs.  Point blank.

**via**

The only plant that does that is Soy.  Otherwise you have to either take supplements or find the right combination of plants to hopefully get there.  One so combination, and you’ll notice this is eaten in a lot of Hispanic countries is Rice & Beans.  What one lacks the other has so they are compliments of each other.  If you eat that combination, you’ll be ok, however should I tell you how much of EACH you’ll have to eat to get the right concentration?  2-3 cups of each.  not total, no that’s each.

I spent 2 weeks, 14 days, in Costa Rica back in 2002 and we ate rice & beans at every meal.  I HATE beans.  I can officially say I tried them more than 12 times and I still don’t like them (of course unless they are green).  Plus to keep unhurt feelings, I ate beans every meal.  I didn’t say, No Thank You, I ate them.  I’ll be fine if I never eat another bean again!  Yes I’m not a big fan :).

So anyway there’s another reason I’m not a vegetarian, you know, other than the fact, I don’t want to be 🙂

disclaimer: I’m not a Registered Dietician… the fact part came from my Nutrition class from my teacher who is, so take it for what it is worth.  If you are a vegetarian, more power to you.
