Saturday

Noah (Best Man in our wedding) and his fiance Shantel had a gorgeous baby girl.  Now Miss Emerie decided to come 5 weeks early but she’s here and she’s healthy and happy and her parents are beaming.

See I can hold other people’s babies… spoil them rotten even… and then send them home.

No diaper changing for me, no late night feedings for me, not yet anyway.

Welcome Miss Emerie to the world 🙂

I CAN peel an Orange!!!

**Story behind this… when I lived at home, the only time I would eat an orange is if my mom would peel it for me… hahahah 🙂 Not that I couldn’t peel one, I was just too lazy :)**

Complete Randomness & a Recipe

1.  Happy Humpday everyone!  I must have slept funny last night b/c my lower back is aching :(… oh well… maybe I’ll learn.

2.  My silly dogs decided to wake me up at 4am this morning whining.  I’m getting tired of that, that’s for sure.  This is becoming a constant.

3.  This thing is yelling at me to eat it!  MMMMMMM!  I love apples 🙂

4.  When I switched jobs over 2 years ago I packed all my stuff up in a box and it has been sitting under my desk.  The box started falling apart so yesterday I found another box to replace it.  Truthfully if the stuff in there has been there 2 years without much notice, do I really need it?

5.  Yes… look what I found.  A bunch of my Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum Series novels!  Hello!!! 🙂

6.  And this was on my computer so I just thought I’d share.  Leaving Sonic the other day I saw these beautiful Tulips!  GORGEOUS!! 🙂

7.  Back to the box…  Ever wondered what a pumpkin looks like once it’s dried up and possibly petrified?

8.  Ah and the missing snowman to my snowman tree!  I wondered where he went!

9.  Here’s a great Stress Reliever 🙂

Actually I found my stress reliever and my old job, I accidentally broke… not 1 but 2 of them.  It was a stressful job!!!  It was just a stick that you could bend and bend and bend and bend and I broke it in half from bending it so much. 🙁

10.  Harley-Davidson Core Values

  • Tell the Truth
  • Be Fair
  • Keep your promises
  • Respect the individual
  • Encourage intellectual curiosity

11.  Did you know that Harley-Davidson Motorcycles were one of only 2 motorcycle manufacturing companies that survived the Great Depression?

12.  Now for the recipe.

A guy I had dealings with in my old job gave me this… I’ve never tried it and never convinced anyone to try it.  If you by chance try it, please let me know how it is!! 🙂

Minute Maid Limeade (small can)
~dump in the blender
1 can Tequila (use that same can)
~dump in the blender
12 Trip Sec (half that can)
~Dump in the blender, add ice and blend
Drink up

Like I said… Never tried it.  I found it in my old job box.  and I remember trying to get a lot of people to try it but one ever would.  If you give this a shot, please let me know if it is good or not 🙂

13.  One last thought:

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says… “Oh Shit!  She’s Awake!”

14. Happy Hump day 🙂

Potato Casserole

Since I had Jessica at Potato Salad yesterday (comments) I figured I’d share that recipe first 🙂

Are you ready?

Think you can handle it?

It’s delicious!

Potato Casserole

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Ingredients:
2 lbs frozen hash browns (the square kind)
1 small carton sour cream
1 small onion diced (you can use dried onion flakes)
1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
1 stick butter, melted
2-3 cups grated cheese
Corn Flakes

Place frozen hashbrowns in a bowl.  Add diced up onion.

Dump in your sour cream.

Add the cream of “something” soup.

Add the cheese.  don’t forget the cheese 🙂

And mix it all together!

Simple as that.
Then dumb into a greased baking dish.

Top with crumbled up corn flakes.

YUM!!!

Then drizzle with the melted butter.

I forgot to take a finished photo but basically it looks like the one up there before the butter pouring (which did you notice is completely out of focus…woops)

This is to die for… LOL ok maybe not quite to die for but it’s out of this world good 🙂

I request this at any holiday that I’m allowed to request food… LOL

Enjoy!

I had reward points to use at a retailer or they expired at the end of the month.  So I told my husband how much he could spend.  Well my rewards points were in my maiden name so we changed that over.  I placed my order, got a bill saying what I owed (sales tax & shipping) and I went on.  Then I checked my cc on Saturday and they charged the WHOLE order my CC.  I wasn’t a happy camper at all!!!  Then I got to work this morning and received an email saying that the billing address was in my husbands name.    I’m so baffled because no where in any of this did I ever put his name.  I did it all under my name.  Oh well I received the package and got a credit to my CC.

I think Audrey wanted to play with the chickens over the weekend… or maybe have them as a snack… I’m  not sure which one.  She didn’t get the chance to do either.

We went out to dinner with my parents this weekend and went to a local Hibachi grill.  It was fabulous!  So they have this seafood sauce and then another sauce they usually give you.  Well my husband and I prefer the seafood sauce so we asked for just 2 of those.  Then my husband asked if he could have another tray of it and the chef gave him a bowl.  Then asked if that was enough… LOL

Gasoline Coupon

I didn’t realize it before, but these coupons are good for one gallon of gas at most retailers.

I have seen them around, but until recently never realized their actual worth.

You probably have one or two lying around somewhere…

Now is the time to use them

Before they lose their value, and it’s too late!!!!

Well Isn't This a Surprise….???….

This wasn’t my post thought for today…. In fact I really debated on doing another recipe… because, well…. that’s what I had planned…. But then……….

So I went to Zumba last night and then to a meeting.  On my way to the meeting I called home but PC didn’t answer so I went on to my meeting.  Just after it started he called me.  I shot him a text telling him the meeting had already started and asked if all was ok.  He said yes but call me the minute you get a chance.

Yeah… that bothered me just a bit but I went on with the meeting.  When it was over I called home to ask if all was ok.  He asked me if I had gotten any weird emails, texts or phone calls.  Huh?  and he asked the same question again.  I asked from who and he said, well I don’t know.  Ok… slow down and walk me through this….

So backing up to the night before (Wednesday) we went to a friends house for dinner and to walk.  They have chickens and gave us some eggs.

Now I hate to admit this but I’ve never had farm fresh eggs that I’m aware of.  When people hear that it’s like I’ve committed a crime b/c I grew up on a farm and never had farm fresh eggs.  Well we had beef cattle, horses, at one time goats (sold them) and eventually sheep plus a llama, no chickens…

So of course I was all interested in their chickens… Aerielle took me to the chicken pen and her son told me all about them.  I asked him if he was going to run in with them and he told me sure, momma said no though… LOL.

So Pokey said that if we would come up with an incubator that he’d give us some eggs to hatch out, since we’d been wanting chickens anyway.  So after work yesterday the husband went and got an incubator.

But when he came home…. He came home to this sitting against our front door.

So back to the phone call, I was so confused he finally told me that there was a box left on our front door with a large ziplock bag.  On the outside it said Chicken Starter.  Did I know anything about this?

Um… no.  Then he proceeded to tell me we had 14 (not one or 2 or 5… nope 14) baby chicks inside this bankers box.  I didn’t know anything about this… Nope.

So I said well sounds like something my dad would do… or maybe Aerielle & Pokey…. Nope.  So then my friend Doti has been talking about getting a bunch of chicks lately, maybe she was playing a prank/joke on us.  Nope.  So we have no idea where these little Chicky’s came from… but aren’t they cute?

Here… here’s an up close look.

And this one so didn’t like my camera flash.  (our house is so dark, flash is the only way to go… especially at night)

If we have a rooster, I so want to name him Rooster Cogburn!

So I have no idea who delivered them so I have no idea who to thank…  But now we have an incubator for eggs & some baby chicky’s.

Luckily my mother in law had some chicken wire that she told us we could have so our chicken coupe is ready to go once these guys get to the right age/size!!
