ByNicoleCareful how you write it! 🙂 I ran across a bunch of these handy tips and thought, what better way than to start the New Year off with some helpful hints, right? Not sure if they all work or not, I haven’t had a chance to try them, but hey, we’re well on our way…
It Looks Like a Christmas Tree
ByNicoleI have always been one of those that looks at Southern Living and Better Homes & Gardens and really any other magazine I could get my hands on that had Christmas decor and dreamed about how I’d love for my future house to be decorated up all pretty for Christmas. So far, I’ve failed miserably…
Bandaid’s Hurt
ByNicoleDid you know band aids hurt? Is it Bandaid or is it Band aid? I’m not really sure… If you ask spell check it says 2 words but it doesn’t always know best. After going to the ER and being diagnosed with Influenza B, Abug was put on medicine to make her get better. The…
One Year Ago…XV
ByNicoleAs with any “outing” at my house, when family (or friends but mostly family) comes over, it’s a huge ordeal. Everything has to be in the perfect place and usually it gets put off until the last minute and a lot of times left for me to do. This Sunday was like every other, except…
Book Review: Royal Design
ByNicoleGuys, I did it. I’ve gone above and beyond my Good Reads book challenge for sure. It’s either Book 13 or Book 14. Remember, yesterday’s blog post I discussed how it could be 13, but that one of the original 12 was a novella and I wasn’t sure I wanted to count that as a…
Snookums Peace Offering – take 2
ByNicoleOn Easter Sunday after lunch, I got into watching You Again while dad & Tbug went out to ride horses. Then Hubby got up and walked outside himself. Toward the end of the movie Hubs calls me and says, You should bring your camera and come out there. I took my sweet time and grumbled…
I'm sorry you lost someone you were so close too, but I love hearing your family stories!
You are so right! The Youngun is with her Granny Bob and Pop Pop right now. She loves to spend time with them, and I'd never stop her from going, even if I wish she'd stay home a little bit more. I still miss my grandparents!
She sounds like she was a wonderful person, and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved by you. What a lovely, sad story…and you're absolutely right; we do need to show our grandparents our love before it's too late. I'll spend the rest of my life regretting I wasn't a better grandchild to my grandparents.
Honestly – if I paid for my sisters education and she did that, I'd kill her! I do love her story – one day I'll share my grandmother's story, its a very hard but inspiring one!
Thanks for reminding us how important family is!
She sounds like a wonderful lady , And I be she was proud of you and the relationship you two had
I know what you mean about being grateful for all the time you knew your grandmother-I was the oldest grandkid, and was 17 when Pappy died. I have more memories than all the other kids, and it makes me sad in a way. Because they didn't get to have as much time… but I'm so grateful I did. I wish John could have met him too. It's hard losing grandparents.
What a wonderful post! She sounds like a special lady and she was fortunate that she had someone like you as a grandchild to appreciate her so much as well. 🙂
