Cozumel Mother’s Day Trip Part 1
ByNicoleIn May we headed to Cozumel Mexico. By the time we left I think we all needed a vacation. It was hubby, Abug, my mom, my MIL, and me who were able to go this year along with some other people to round out our trip. It was a lot of fun and after the…
Breaking a Calf to Lead
ByNicoleWe’ve been having fun around these parts. When you can’t go anywhere or do anything, might as well make the most of it the best way you can. When I was younger, I wanted nothing more than to show at the fair. While I showed horses so I could compete that way, that’s not really…
Tornado Warning
ByNicoleWe have heartache and devastation in my area today. I haven’t even seen all the devastation that has gone through because the storm has only just left our area within the last couple of hours and sometimes it’s just best to let professionals do their work without people getting in the way. I haven’t heard…
Little Cricket Bars
ByNicoleIsn’t she beautiful? This was Little Cricket Bars, or her barn name was Cricket or Ma. She is a 1984 model. If there’s one thing I can teach you about horses, their age changes on January 1st. That would make her 32. 32 is old in horse years. A friend of our family gave her…
10 Things to Smile About – September
ByNicoleSo technically Emmy’s 10 things to smile about for the month was yesterday, but, well, when have I been on time? I was born 2 weeks late and I might as well just realize I’ll be late for the rest of my life?!?! So better late than never, right? 1. Hubby and I celebrated our…
One Year Ago… Part 19
ByNicoleI made it home. Told him good night and hung up the phone. The next day was Sunday. It was very un-eventful. He had to head home and make sure he got home at a decent hour. He and his daughter swung by to pick me up on their way for him to take her…
I'm sorry you lost someone you were so close too, but I love hearing your family stories!
You are so right! The Youngun is with her Granny Bob and Pop Pop right now. She loves to spend time with them, and I'd never stop her from going, even if I wish she'd stay home a little bit more. I still miss my grandparents!
She sounds like she was a wonderful person, and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved by you. What a lovely, sad story…and you're absolutely right; we do need to show our grandparents our love before it's too late. I'll spend the rest of my life regretting I wasn't a better grandchild to my grandparents.
Honestly – if I paid for my sisters education and she did that, I'd kill her! I do love her story – one day I'll share my grandmother's story, its a very hard but inspiring one!
Thanks for reminding us how important family is!
She sounds like a wonderful lady , And I be she was proud of you and the relationship you two had
I know what you mean about being grateful for all the time you knew your grandmother-I was the oldest grandkid, and was 17 when Pappy died. I have more memories than all the other kids, and it makes me sad in a way. Because they didn't get to have as much time… but I'm so grateful I did. I wish John could have met him too. It's hard losing grandparents.
What a wonderful post! She sounds like a special lady and she was fortunate that she had someone like you as a grandchild to appreciate her so much as well. 🙂
