A Day in the life – Mother's Day
ByNicoleFriday Night when we picked Tbug up, she brought me these papers. They brought tears to my eyes. Mother’s Day morning I got the pleasure of having Tbug with us. She woke me up with my present (which she didn’t have to get me… hubby! but I love you both!!)!! via And a wonderful…
And just like that… Coronavirus day 6
ByNicoleIt has been an interesting last few days… to say the least. Life is never boring on a farm, that’s for sure. While we’re supposed to be self quarantining, you can’t quite do that exactly when you live on a farm. Anyway, you can’t stay indoors because there are animals that rely on you. My…
Kansas City: Where We Stayed, Where We Ate, What We Did
ByNicoleWow, it’s been quite a while since we actually went to Kansas City, but still, it’s worth mentioning. Last month we made a weekend trip, actually just an overnight trip to Kansas City. The goal was to go to the Farmer’s Market and get Jalapeños. I know that sounds funny, but hubby makes these things…
Journal of a Joplin Teacher
ByNicoleWith School starting in the area, I thought this was just really cool. Maybe not something y’all would be interested in, however some of this stuff I want to remember. This is from the journal of a teacher in Joplin, Missouri, as the school year is beginning. It puts many things into perspective. This may…
Book Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
ByNicoleI started reading this book. I never made it all the way through. It’s interesting. I didn’t remember a lot of what I read… nor do I remember watching the movie. What the heck? I remember Professor Umbridge and I hate Professor Umbridge, but… oy! I couldn’t even remember watching this movie. Hubby would say,…
I'm sorry you lost someone you were so close too, but I love hearing your family stories!
You are so right! The Youngun is with her Granny Bob and Pop Pop right now. She loves to spend time with them, and I'd never stop her from going, even if I wish she'd stay home a little bit more. I still miss my grandparents!
She sounds like she was a wonderful person, and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved by you. What a lovely, sad story…and you're absolutely right; we do need to show our grandparents our love before it's too late. I'll spend the rest of my life regretting I wasn't a better grandchild to my grandparents.
Honestly – if I paid for my sisters education and she did that, I'd kill her! I do love her story – one day I'll share my grandmother's story, its a very hard but inspiring one!
Thanks for reminding us how important family is!
She sounds like a wonderful lady , And I be she was proud of you and the relationship you two had
I know what you mean about being grateful for all the time you knew your grandmother-I was the oldest grandkid, and was 17 when Pappy died. I have more memories than all the other kids, and it makes me sad in a way. Because they didn't get to have as much time… but I'm so grateful I did. I wish John could have met him too. It's hard losing grandparents.
What a wonderful post! She sounds like a special lady and she was fortunate that she had someone like you as a grandchild to appreciate her so much as well. 🙂
