You’re still missed
ByNicoleA lot has happened in this world in the last 5 years. Tonight the world has become in turmoil again because of more terrorist attacks. But this day in history has a bit of a different meaning to me and my family. You see, 5 years ago today we lost my grandpa. This is the…
I love the Goat Ornament…
ByNicoleEvery year since I’ve been married to my husband we’ve tried to include Tbug in decorating our Christmas tree. We miss the one Christmas when hubby and I were dating. I know what all ornaments we own. I know what all ornaments go onto our tree. Granted, we have a few that we add every…
S’mores Cake
ByNicoleLate last month a friend of mine asked me if I would be willing to make a cake for a fundraiser and what I would charge her. I said I’d do it for the ingredients. Heck yeah, someone else to help fund my new found interests. I don’t know, do you call it a hobby?…
In the Blink of an Eye
ByNicoleGuys, I live in Southwest Missouri. I’m close to Branson, in fact within about an hour and a half or so depending on traffic. I’ve ridden the Ride the Ducks there in Branson. And there has been a horrific accident that happened. I’m not sure if this has made national/international news or not. I did…
When the weather outside is frightful….
ByNicoleand the fire is so delightful… When there’s no place to go, let it snow let it snow let it snow! So that is what my front yard looks like and I hear there’s more of this stuff/rain (and cold weather) in the forecast. Then I got a text from hubby yesterday that said he…
Creamy Hot Artichoke Dip
ByNicoleFor Christmas, (I know Christmas, what am I talking about) my mom had us come over early and help her with cooking preparations. To say she was a bit overwhelmed, well, we all have our moments and cooking in the kitchen is soooo my thing so I jumped at the chance to help out!! Besides…
I'm sorry you lost someone you were so close too, but I love hearing your family stories!
You are so right! The Youngun is with her Granny Bob and Pop Pop right now. She loves to spend time with them, and I'd never stop her from going, even if I wish she'd stay home a little bit more. I still miss my grandparents!
She sounds like she was a wonderful person, and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved by you. What a lovely, sad story…and you're absolutely right; we do need to show our grandparents our love before it's too late. I'll spend the rest of my life regretting I wasn't a better grandchild to my grandparents.
Honestly – if I paid for my sisters education and she did that, I'd kill her! I do love her story – one day I'll share my grandmother's story, its a very hard but inspiring one!
Thanks for reminding us how important family is!
She sounds like a wonderful lady , And I be she was proud of you and the relationship you two had
I know what you mean about being grateful for all the time you knew your grandmother-I was the oldest grandkid, and was 17 when Pappy died. I have more memories than all the other kids, and it makes me sad in a way. Because they didn't get to have as much time… but I'm so grateful I did. I wish John could have met him too. It's hard losing grandparents.
What a wonderful post! She sounds like a special lady and she was fortunate that she had someone like you as a grandchild to appreciate her so much as well. 🙂
