Homemade Waffle Batter
Hey what is this?
Why it looks like a new waffle Iron.
It smells like a new waffle iron.
Oh ouch, it burns like a new waffle iron, don’t touch it 😉
Consensus says, it’s a new Waffle Iron.
I have been wanting a waffle iron for a while now. But some days I guess I’m cheap. Cheap not easy as I say and my {step}daughter points out every chance she gets, even when it doesn’t apply. Note to self, teach her what that really means… I’m frugal!
Anyway moving on. I really wanted a waffle iron but couldn’t see spending $50+ on something I really wouldn’t use THAT much… But a while back I was at JC Penney and they had a coupon, spend $25 get $10 off. Then on top of that they had a waffle iron (this one hint hint) for $69.99 on sale for $29.99. Add my $10 coupon to that, I got a $70 waffle iron for $21 and change after tax. SCORE! See, my frugalness paid off!
So then I was surfing around reading blogs, I have a lot of food blogs I have a tendency to read, and one of them posted this Homemade Waffle Batter. Bad thing is, I can’t remember which blog I was reading, so if you read my piece of the blog-o-sphere, and this is your recipe, please let me know so I can credit you! Until that happens, know I didn’t make up this recipe, but dadgum is it ever so good!
Update!! I found where I found the recipe, found Here! Thank you Pinterest!
Homemade Waffle Batter
1 3/4 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 lg eggs
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup melted butter
2 tsp vanilla
Preparation:
In a large mixing bowl combine all wet ingredients together
Beat until well blended
In another bowl add all dry ingredients and slowly start to add them to the wet ingredients
Mix all ingredients until everything is good and wet (don’t over mix)
Cook in a waffle maker according to makers instructions
When it is finished, pull it off the waffle maker, and top with your favorite toppings!
Now that was Easy! (sorry couldn’t resist)
Happy Breakfasting 🙂

You got a great deal on that waffle iron, don't worry I'm frugal too 🙂 Homemade waffles sound delish!
I am also quite the “frugal” girl – almost never pay retail. I have a much used and loved waffle maker. It was a wedding gift many moons ago. I would love a new one with removable plats for easier cleaning though 🙂
Belgian waffles…my favorite! And now I want that. 😀
MMM….I LOVE homemade waffles!! A waffle iron is DEF on the wedding registry! Hope you had a great weekend! xo
GREAT! Thanks so much for sharing!! I LOVE waffles… just wish my waffle iron hadn't broken. 🙁
