Faux Monday

I had a completely different post in mind for this morning, but this was too great not to share… I think…

Just call me the crazy lady after this post I think!

So at 4ish am this morning my little dog (the Cocker) is barking her head off.  I finally decided I needed to get up and at least make sure she or the Lab hadn’t fallen in the pool and were trying to get our attention.  Nope.  So I went back to sleep.

Well tried anyway.  About 5 minutes later I got up to yell at her and tell her to quit barking but hubs beat me to it.  She quit for all of about 5 minutes and then started up again.  So he got up, went outside to see what was going on.

When he came back in he said it was sprinkling.  Yey!  (side note sorry) and I said I thought it had been thundering.  He said, no the Lab has been running across our roof.  (Now remember, my house is a Berm house so it’s surrounded by ground on 3 sides and it’s only about 2 feet from the ground to my roof.)  So he yelled at them for that and we proceeded to go back to bed.

Nope, the Cocker starts friggin barking again.  But eventually I must have been tired enough because I fell back asleep.

Hubby got up and left early this morning because he had a dentist appointment so when he went to leave our Cocker ran him back into the woods where we have an old pickup parked like there was something out there.  When he went to investigate she ran tail between her legs all the way back to the house like she was scared of him or something.  Don’t know if that is involved with any of this story or not….  but it’s weird it happened today!

So as a side funny, my alarm goes off at 6:35 and I must have been dreaming because about the time the alarm went off in my dream I slapped myself in my face.  Weird I know.

So I’m up, getting dressed and I hear this thump thump thump thump thump starting from the far end of my house to right above my head.  I realize its the dogs running across the roof again.  btw, they’ve never done this before that I know of!  So we have a door in our bedroom so I go running out of it.  Now please remember I’m getting dressed so at this point… well I might have been naked…..  I live in the country and have a privacy fence for all but about 6 feet outside my door.  Anyway I go running outside yelling at them.

They looked at me like geez lady, take a chill pill.  So I went back in the house to finish getting dressed.  About 5-10 minutes later I hear the thump thump thump thump thump starting from the far end of my house to right above my head again.  By this time I might have been swearing just a bit.  I go running out the door again, this time, bra & panties with my dress in my hand trying to get it over my head.  I proceed to yell at them again.  This time they ran from me.

So I went back in the house to finish getting ready.  I had enough time to put on what was left of my make-up, turn the tv off, brush my teeth, call hubby and tell him about this ruckus, find my shoes and grab my cell phone.  Hubby told me to put them in the crate if I could.  So I go walking down the hallway and realize they are walking around on the roof of the house.

I kicked my heels off and took off running out the front door as quietly and as quickly as I could so I could catch them in the act.  I just about ran out into the front yard (where they generally do their business…. buttheads 20 acres and they choose that patch) so I ran back in, grabbed my flip flops and tore off outside again.

Sure enough they were on the friggin roof.  I took off one of my shoes and threw it at them which caused them to go up and over the top to the back side.  So I tore off across the patio toward my bedroom and jumped on the roof, one shoe on, one shoe off and in a dress (yeah I was cute) yelling at them to get off the friggin roof.

Have you ever run across a roof barefooted?  It doesn’t feel so good.  Just saying.

Anyway they tore off the far end and turned around and looked at me with front paws on the guttering, so I took my other shoe off and threw that at them.  They got down then.  I decided I’d leave my shoe on the roof and let hubby get it but, but then decided that well, if I can’t get them in the crate they’ll eat my shoe so I ran back across the roof, grabbed my shoe and jumped off the roof and ran around the back side of the house barefooted.  {Not a brilliant idea because these dumb dogs tore our Christmas lights off last year and who knows if there is broken glass :(.}  So I take off running and screaming at them and they hightailed it to the front of the house.  I ran across the gravel barefooted, grabbed them and put them in their crate.

So here we are, my dogs are in trouble, my throat hurts from screaming and my feet are aching b/c of the roof.  Oy, it might as well be a Monday!

The Other Morning

His alarm went off as I was laying there in bed.  At first I thought it was mine so I slammed the night stand but when the noise didn’t stop and my cell phone hit the floor I realized it was his.  Oh come on hunny, make that damn thing shut up already, please!  I rolled over and kicked him in the leg hoping that would get him to budge or at least make the stupid alarm shut up.  I seriously wasn’t ready to get out of bed, but that dumb beep beep beep sound was slowly waking me up.  I knew if I got too awake that I’d never get back to sleep and I still had just over an hour left of good quality sleep before I had to start fighting my alarm.

Finally after the second nudge I felt him move and shut the alarm off.  He crawled out of bed, walking around the bed toward the bathroom, quickly stopping by my side of the bed to give me a “good morning, I love you” kiss.  Then he grabbed his clothes and headed out of the room to get dressed in the living room so not to wake me with lights and sound.

A few minutes later I thought I heard him talking to the pups as he let them out, then he closed the door behind him.  I heard the door lock.  That was it, he’d left for work.  I rolled over to snuggle up to his side of the bed so I could feel like I was closer to him and hopefully I could doze back off.

A few minutes later I thought I heard the stool flush.  It jolted me awake.  I laid there, frozen.  There shouldn’t be anyone in the house.  I know I just heard hubby leave.  I laid there frozen, scared to move.  If someone was in the house, what would I do?  I could grab my cell phone and call someone but we don’t get service at our house.  I couldn’t remember where I left the house phone last and it’s so dark in here I’m not sure I could find it without making noise.  Then I realized I was laying there without clothes on.  Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.  Last I remembered I had a pair of shorts on the bed post along with a t-shirt but silly me left most all my shoes by the front door.  There were some of hubbys in the closet, but if I put them on I couldn’t make a fast get away, I would trip over them because they are too big.

Then I heard voices talking.  Really?  Some guy named John or maybe they said Jason.  Heck I wasn’t sure, my heart was beating so loud that it felt like it was pounding in my ears and it was making it hard to hear. Dammit, dammit, dammit.  What am I going to do.  I didn’t have my glasses on so I couldn’t see the clock to even know what time it was.  What if my alarm went off, would they come after me?  Would they know I was here?

You know, I could get into my bathrobe faster that the shorts and then just sneak out the bedroom door that leads outside.  But I have to turn that dumb lock and the door makes a really loud sound when it opens.  What am I going to do?

Then I heard foot steps coming down the hallway.  Oh crap, I don’t have enough time.  Maybe if I jump into the bathroom and lock the door, then I could escape through the bathroom window?

Just as the person should been to our bedroom door I shuttered.  I shuttered so hard I jumped off the bed an inch and when I hit the mattress it jolted my eyes open.  I was breathing hard, shaking, listening.  I didn’t hear anything.  I looked around from under the covers; the covers that by this time I had pulled up to my eyes.  Nothing.

The deafening silence still had me shaking.  I crawled out of bed, grabbed my glasses and looked at the clock.  6:15a.m.  I found the house phone and punched in hubby’s cell number.  He answered and I started whispering.  He asked why I was whispering and I told him what had happened, then I asked him if he locked the front door.  He said yes.  So I told him I wanted him on the phone in case there was someone in the house, so at least he’d know.  I slowly walked down the hallway peering into every room. I was thanking God at this point we have a 1 story house.

Once I got to the front door I made sure it was locked, then I proceeded on to the office.  That door was locked too.  I was so tense ever muscle in my body ached.  I walked back to the bedroom and double checked that door, locked.  I opened the blinds, no one outside except the dogs who were sleeping in front of the door.

We finally decided I must have fallen back to sleep without realizing it and had that crazy dream.  Had someone been there the dogs wouldn’t be sleeping peacefully in front of the door.  A crazy dream, really?  That’s all I can figure out, but it was enough to jolt me awake.  In fact, I couldn’t go back to sleep by that time so I got up, turned on tv and started watching The Nanny before I had to get dressed and head to work.

**************************

And yes, this is a true story.  This is how I was so abruptly woken up the other morning, I’m not going to lie, I was pretty freaked out.  I do have some pretty crazy weird dreams.  At least this one wasn’t about the aliens who were eating purple and green and yellow and orange brains!

Hillbilly Water Park

So y’all remember we haven’t had the best of luck with our pool… Well… Some of my family pitched in to help us replace our pool liner which was a huge relief.  However we called around to price installation & liners… people around these parts are flippin out of their mind!  So we ordered our pool liner and had friends/family come out and we replaced it our self!

Bad part about that, having to use well water to fill it, especially since we haven’t had rain in what seems like months.  Those few sprinkle showers here and there don’t count!

On a side note, I’m so ready to Dance In The Rain!!!!!!

So it’s been slow filling it up, however, what better way to celebrate my birthday & T’s birthday then by making a make-shift water park, like we did earlier this summer when we were filling up the pool!  Bring it on!

Hey it was hot, the water was COLD!  and we didn’t have to stand around in lines for hours to ride rides at a water park, what more could you ask for?

I swear the kids had frog feet, they just walked right up it.

The adults, didn’t have that kind of luck so we went up backwards on our butts 🙂

It's Getting Hot Out Here

Last summer a glass candle got put out by our pool and by the end of summer it got bumped and busted in our pool.  We got majority of the glass out of the bottom (it’s 12 feet at the deep end) but to be sure that we got all the glass out, we completely drained the pool and shop-vaced it out.  Then we had to re-fill it.  We aren’t done refilling it yet, even but we got a good start this weekend.

But while we were at it… it was hot (we broke record highs over the weekend), the water was inviting… so we played too :).  Earl brought her kids over and we all had a hay day!

Just as Earl and the kid showed up I was standing on the slope, hit a wet slick spot and down I went.  Now we have well water and our pool never gets warm anyway, but filling it with well water, it was chilly!

T is a fish 🙂

Since it slopes down to the deep end, we had the water hose put into the skimmer and the pump sucked it out the jets so it made the slope like a slip’n’slide.

Moo

Plus we were careful and made sure we wore our Sunscreen.

Hi Hubby!

We actually had so much fun we joked around about keeping it this way… LOL

I just wanted to be sure you knew I really was there.

Then we broke out some of the fun pool toys.

and PC blew up Tbug’s float for Moo to use.

And finally out came the water guns

When that happened we decided Earl needed a swimsuit.  She teased me about not being able to fill out my top so I told her I’d loan her Tbug’s.  We all got a good laugh at that slam.

That first “in” to the water is cold!

We had a fun couple hours!

DIY How-to: Walls

I live in a Berm House.  What does that mean?  That means that basically I live in a basement with a roof.  One side is “out” the rest of the 3 sides of the house are surrounded by dirt (or we should affectionately call it soil because it does house grass and dirt is a four letter dirty word if you ask my Soils Science Professor… Dirt grows nothing, soil does… anyway)  So almost every room in my house has a concrete wall in it.

Ah the lovely concrete walls… they are so much fun to deal with… You cant hang pictures easily, the have stupid holes in them that on lighter colors looks like fly poop… etc etc etc.  But that’s ok… my house has quirks that makes me scratch my head and say “huh” but I’m pretty sure every house has that in one way or another… But we like our house, so we deal 🙂

The previous owners of the house, in the bedroom (and the living room, but we aren’t touching it) had wainscoting up… seriously… wainscoting?  In a bedroom?  This isn’t the 1970’s and that’s not very romantic!!!  So we started deciding how we wanted to remodel our bedroom to suit us.  Now I should mention a while back, before we were really even “dating”, we’d decided on our bedroom color.  Yes I know, call us crazy, but there was something about this relationship that I just knew was going to “stick”!  Anyway we chose blue and brown, hence the reason for our wedding colors of teal and brown… incorporate our wedding into our bedroom 🙂  So I’ve have the material picked out for my bedroom suit (even before we were “dating”, but he agreed on it with me b/c I sent him photos to make sure he approved) since October of 2009.  It’s been sitting in my mom’s sewing room since December of 09.  She’s my seamstress 🙂

So… we’ve been picking up bits and pieces along the way so we didn’t have a huge expense all at once for our room.  And maybe I should have saved some of that explanation for the room reveal post… because this is a DIY post… but I had to give some background 🙂 That’s just my style.

So with the concrete wall and ripping the wallpaper/wainscoting off the walls, our walls didn’t match, plus they glued the friggin wainscoting on so we have funky glue marks to deal with… *sigh*… So the husband and I decided to do this project to make all 4 walls look alike!  (We did this in our MIL room as well on the concrete wall)

Items needed:
Roller
Roller pan
paint brush
tissue paper
paint
LOTS OF PATIENCE!!!

1.  Start by rolling on your “glue” coat of paint.  Basically this is just paint that will hold the tissue paper on.

2.  Once you have the glue coat on wad up a piece of tissue paper.  (Does this shot look familiar, just different hands?)
~Note: This is tissue paper like you wrap presents with just to clarify.
~Note: It can be any tissue paper, had we known we’d have needed it we’d have saved tissue paper from Christmas.
~Note:  Even Victoria’s Secret tissue paper works, just ask my MIL wall 🙂

3.  Once it’s all waded up, now pull it back out.  Basically you want the tissue paper crinkled.

4.  Now stick it into the glue layer.

5. And press it down.  See now why my hands look like a smurf in other shots?

6.  Now comes the patience!  Take your paint brush, dip it in the paint and dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab

dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab

dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab,
and yes you’ll have to keep re-loading your paint brush with paint through all of this…
dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab,

dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab,

dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab,

dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab

dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, oh and keep in mind… the wrinkles, their ok, that’s what you’re going for, it’s called texture 🙂  It hides the texture that’s already on the concrete walls, it hides the lines in the concrete walls, it hides the glue marks, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab

I’m loving life right about there.  That’s actually the last part of the walls left to do (what you see that’s white)

8.  Once you have it all dabbed on, then you overlap your next piece and go at it some more.  Overlap half, 2/3rds, 1/4, just over lap.  PC got annoyed with me b/c I’d turn them all directions… oh well 🙂  I didn’t like it to be uniformed… you don’t want that anyway 🙂

~Helpful Hints~

1.  Now when we first started this venture, my mom said you were to just work with 1/4’s of the tissue paper at a time.  Yeah that takes even longer!  Once you are around light switches, outlet’s, door frames, etc you have to work with smaller pieces, but here, we used full sheets.  Worked just great.

2.  Mom said you had to tear off the outside edges because the straight lines would show otherwise.  Overlap and the crinkles will save you from “straight” lines.  Plus if you start thinking one shows, rip a smaller piece and slap it on in a funky direction on the line and voila, your straight line is hidden.

3.  We finally learned after a little debate and practice (on the concrete wall that already had texture) you can lay your glue coat down, wrinkle the tissue paper, and then go over it with a roller, just be careful not to go back and forth, just go one direction.  Works great and you can seriously cover some wall!

~The Finish~

To finish it off, once All the tissue paper is up and has dried over night, you can run over the walls with the roller dipped in the paint color you chose to make the coat consistent and catch any white spots you may have. (look close, you can see a few in mine, we don’t have the roller coat on yet in these photos).  Let that dry 24 hours.  Then the very last step is to take a Glaze with just a hint of color and you smear it on with your hands and a pair of gloves.  Our glaze color is brown.  You’ll have to for the reveal photo to see the finished product.

We are in full swing Operation Room Back because I want my room back!!!!!! 🙂  This is week 2 of sleeping in the MIL room.

And for those of you joining me that weren’t around last summer… our spare room is called the MIL or Mother in law room just so you know what the MIL room is 🙂

And let me add, our room looks AWESOME!!!

Christmas in October…..

Today Prince Charming and I have been married for 2 months.  2 whole months.  Can you believe it?  I can’t.  Someday’s it doesn’t even feel like we’re married and other days I swear we’ve been married for 50 years.  I guess that’s what you get though 🙂

I swear the last couple days I have been in a funk and I’m not sure why… maybe it’s the weather change.  I would rather be warm/hot than cold.  I hate being cold b/c I have the hardest time finally warming up.  But one good thing to come from this time of the year is the holidays, Thanksgiving (U.S.) and Christmas!  I love those times of the year and really the time between the two holidays.  It’s great because I get to see some family more often than not, my family takes a yearly vacation that I hope is still on this year (so far so good but who knows right this minute….), the people, the atmosphere, the smells (oh the smells!) and so much more!

Sunday we got an early Christmas present.  It was an accident we got it but let me back up and give you some story leading up to the Christmas present.

We had Tbug this past weekend.  Saturday morning PC and I woke up and started cleaning on our house.  There’s still a lot to be put away from the move in before Christmas because we are having it at our house this year :).  I’m excited.  Anyway getting off subject…. we definitely wanted to get the living room cleaned up, the kitchen, and the MIL room put back together, cleaned out both vehicles (so I’m working on another 101), all that fun stuff.  By about noon Tbug and the rest of us were going a little stir crazy so we decided to head in to town and get lunch and maybe look for a third pumpkin to carve.

We wound up at Lowes.  I’ve been wanting a new kitchen faucet but in my opinion, they are ridiculously priced and I’m not ready to shell out the money yet.  Not $150+ for a pretty one.  I’m cheap not easy 🙂  That’s my motto.

So after I day dreamed about my new kitchen faucet we wandered over to my dream refrigerator

Then we wandered over and dreamed about my new washer and dryer.

so then we looked at cabinets and counter tops.  Yes we were killing time so we didn’t have to go home and clean more… LOL.  So our next stop was around to the small appliances: coffee makers, deep fryers, etc.  When we got to the end of the aisle I went left and PC went right so I turned around to see what he was up to and that’s when we spotted it.  A lovely front load dryer with a bright yellow sticker on it.  We walked over to see what was up with it and finally got a worker to come talk to us about it.  It was a close out that was last year’s model and it was a showroom model.  Hmmmm… the price was right and they said if we’d take it, we could have the pedastool it was on… those things are $199.99… for free!  I looked at PC, he looked at me, and we grinned.  I told him I had the money to buy it and it would help cut down on our electricity bill… maybe we should buy it.  So…….

You are looking at our gorgeous new dryer.

But you might be saying, wait… Where does the Christmas present fall in?

Never fear, I won’t leave you hanging 🙂

So Sunday we were headed to my parents house to go celebrate PC’s birthday and I was texting my aunt about our recent purchase.  She has the front loading Washer & Dryer and loved them so I was like Wow, just Wow.  She laughed at me.  Then she asked if they had a washer.  I was like No :(.  She said well if they would have, I’d have bought that for you for Christmas.  Well we were like score, now we need to find a washer… LOL.  Ok we aren’t that petty!  But we did look.  And looky looky here:

My mom called my aunt and said she’d make up the difference if need be but my aunt said nope, as long as they don’t expect anything else for Christmas.  LOL.  We don’t expect things at all and so we were joking with her and I was like, Yey I won’t have to find places for more stuff. haha.  And PC got a comment about we’d have clean clothes for Christmas.  We were like, um we had a washer… but ok works for us 🙂

Ok so thanks for indulging in my long rambling story full of pretty dreams!

The House

Ok so we haven’t done much to the outside of the house, but really there isn’t much we can do. It’s a rock front… But we did paint the doors. I’ll show you the before and after shots 🙂

Here’s before:

And here’s after.

When taking pictures of the outside I should learn to move my car!

You can also tell some differences in the landscape, that’s what you get from the first of April to the middle of July :), Green Grass and lots of it 🙂

The red doors can actually be seen from the road and the house doesn’t completely face the road either. We absolutely love the red doors! You can also see my 4th of July wreath. The previous owner had one as well so it doesn’t look like much change but there is :).

I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend! My birthday is next Friday (the 30th) but we have PC’s daughter this weekend so Sunday we’re having everyone over to the house and cooking lunch so she can be involved in my birthday as well.

Peace, Love & Weekends!

The Living Room

…Also known by some as the family room.

Wikipedia’s Definition
:

A family room is an informal, all-purpose room in a house similar to a living room. The family room is designed to be a place where family and guests gather for group recreation like talking, reading, watching TV, and other family activities.[1][2] Often, the family room is located adjacent to the kitchen, and at times, flows into it with no visual breaks[3]. A family room often has doors leading to the back yard and specific outdoor living areas such as a deck, garden, or terrace.
The distinction between a family room, a living room, and a recreation room may be fluid. In homes with more than one, the living room is usually the more formal room, often reserved for guests, special occasions, and the display of items such as antiques or artwork. The recreation room is typically in the basement and used for games and playtime. In homes with only one, the terms are generally synonymous. It is not uncommon for someone who grew up calling such a room by only one term to have no idea of the distinction between the two.[citation needed] In floorplans, a “great room” is where the living room and family room are combined into one high-ceilinged room adjacent to the kitchen.[4]

So anyway now that you got your lesson today, someday when someone asks, you’ll be very informed 🙂 So who’s ready for some pictures after that ;).
Before Shots: (this is all the previous owners things)
So here are some progress photos:
Just put my Painted Pony collection up.
The fridge is in the living room because we were laying tile floor in the kitchen 🙂 It’s back where it belongs now 🙂
And Now for some Final photos (as for now anyway):

Eventually hopefully we’ll lose the futon and lose the feel of college student living but until then, hey it matches and it’s super comfy. Plus if we have extra company, they can sleep on it. My roll top desk was originally going to go in the MIL room but I thought it looked better in the living room. So again we’re still on the quest for something for that one wall in the MIL room.

On a side note: Tara over at That’s Why Her Hair is So Big… did a post on The 30 Day Shred Jillian Michaels. For $9 I thought I’d try it too (I tried P90X, didn’t have that much time to give up in a day, some days 1 hr, others 1 hr 15 minutes and one day 1 hr 30 minutes). For 20 a minutes a day I thought yeah I can give up that much time. Holy cow, My calves are killing me today. Yesterday was my first time. I might die but hey hopefully I can get my skinny on by my wedding… yeah probably won’t happen but a girl can dream right?

Peace, Love, & Family Living rooms 🙂

Tbug's Room

I am quite impressed with the way Tbug’s room turned out. She likes the color pink. Right now the pinks and browns and blues and browns are “It”. We decided we wanted a Blue and Brown bedroom. With that in mind and the fact that she likes pink, we thought, well heck, let’s give her a pink and brown room. Kind of keep with the same scheme of things. Then we thought we’d incorporate brown in the MIL room but then we went Black and white instead.

Anyway Here are the before shots of the house before it was ours: (so none of the stuff is ours)

2 of the walls in this room are concrete so it makes it difficult plus they had textured the 2 concrete walls which adds even more difficulty. That’s why we decided to just paint the entire room. Made it easier for all purposes.

Here is PC painting the brown. He used the roller and I stuck with the brush on the corners. His sister came over the day before and painted the pink walls for us. Now as you’ll notice he has no shoes on… they are in fact in the washer. He stepped in paint. Not a good idea… but we got it fixed 🙂 Makes for a good story too 🙂

As you can see we did opposites for the trim. Yes that was my handy idea. We did the same for the floor boards, wall plates, and light plates.

Setting up her bed.

You can see the Papasan Chair in the closet. Yeah I put her clock in there also. I wandered around the house for 2 days looking for the silly alarm clock. I found it when I was hanging clothes in her closet :). Go me!

Here was the original set up. I hated it! So after it was set-up, we rearranged. I like the set up now but here’s the original…

And finally, the finished product (from all 4 corners of the room).

She was at the house 2 weekends ago. It had been a month since she’d come to see us because she had been at camp. She walked in the room and I’m pretty sure she loved it. The girl was actually speechless. All she said was, “Oh Wow!” and the first thing she wanted to do was jump up on the bed. We are going to have to get her a step to get up and down off of it for a while because it’s a pretty tall bed but I think she likes it.

We are also putting a large cork board on the wall next to the Cowgirl sign so that if she wants to put anything on the wall, that is the only place but she is allowed to put anything there, well with in reason.. haha! No naked boys ;).

My mom made the bedding for her bed. She plans on making throw pillows for the bed for when Tbug isn’t with us but her sewing machine is broken and in the shop and they aren’t sure when it’ll be out so who knows when we’ll get the pillows but we have all the material. The curtain came from JC Penney. We need to re-cover the Papasan chair, blue really doesn’t go but until we decide what we are going to do, it’ll stay blue for now.

Next, I think I’ll probably show the living room.

Peace, Love, & Daughters

Mother-in-law room

Yeah, we call our spare room the Mother-in-law room. The story is (if I haven’t already told you) when my parents were building their house, my grandparents helped with a lot of the work. My grandpa did all the wiring, my grandma stained wood (and we have a ton of it in their house), etc. Well, my grandpa was 11 years older than my grandma and my grandpa had been in and out of the hospital in the past years. My dad just always said that if anything ever happened to my grandpa that we’d move my grandma in with us and she could have the spare room. So he started calling it his mother-in-laws room.

So jump forward about 12-15 years, when PC and I started talking about getting married and finding a place to live, tbug said, Memaw better have a room too! Well, I’ve always thought of the spare room as my grandma’s room even though she passed away in 2007 so when we bought this house I just started calling the spare room the MIL (or mother-in-law) room. PC picked up on it and it’s been that ever since.

The best part is both our mothers have joined in and started calling it their room. So better yet, one-weekend Tbug was over and so were his mom, my mom, and my dad. Tbug said that it was my mom’s and his mom’s room and then she goes, but where will Nicky Bear [my dad] stay? We all looked at her and she said, I know he can share my room with me because he’s the King of Fun. We all got a good chuckle out of that.

So so I’ll quit rambling and proceed to show photos 🙂
