This one time I went to a 1st Birthday Party

Okay truthfully I guess I’ve been to more than one… but this is the most recent. My niece just turned 1 last Friday (the 5th). Her birthday party was on Sunday. My SIL asked me to take a few photos… wouldn’t you know my camera was DEAD. So I stole hers, which I’d been wanting to play with one like anyway so it was the perfect opportunity. 🙂

Wordless Wednesday

So what do you do when the baby refuses to take a nap? You nap with her. btw, one of the guys came into the store today, saw my feet up there (from below) and asked if they really belonged to a person or if Grady was trying to play a joke on people. Now excuse me while I nap with the baby. Hey it works, even if after 2 hours I could barely walk (no blood in my feet….)

April 6th on the Dot

I almost got to title it April 7th on the Dot which I did back in 2013, but nope, he didn’t hang on for that….

What am I talking about?

We had our last baby of the spring born yesterday!! Woot Woot! I woke up to a text from my dad of the newest baby.

This baby is a full brother to the baby born in 2013 that was born April 7th. That is also the baby who put a T-post through his chest and we finally sold a few weeks ago. We were done with his crazy butt! Hubby was a bit sad because it was our first baby but I was actually jumping for joy because he was CRAZY and I didn’t want him hurting any of us!

Baby girl didn’t get to be in the stall with this one once they were moved in the barn because Sis is a little more protective of her baby. We have 3 mares who had babies this year and they all 3 have different temperaments. Blondie is laid back and easy going, Freckles was right there but allowed us to go in with her. Sis is extremely protective. In fact I didn’t even get in the stall with her. I did snap some quick pics through the stall though even though she wasn’t real sure she was okay with that. Then I had to run off to school.

Baby Showers Galore

Okay so maybe it was just one baby shower but it was gorgeous. Very Pinterest worthy! Over the weekend a friend of mine (who was 20 weeks behind me while I was pregnant :)) had her baby shower. Her little bundle of joy is due the end of November (I want to say the 27th which would be almost exactly 20 weeks behind me…). Wow time is flying by! It seems like she was just finding out and now she’s about ready to pop! I’m soooo dang happy for her too!

My peanut went with me to the shower. My SIL happened to be there and she asked if she could get baby girl out of her carseat. I said of course and then Baby Girl SCREAMED. BLOODY. MURDER. I have no idea what came over her. I claimed she just wanted everyone to know she was there. She was also, oddly enough just as content sitting in her carseat in a chair pulled up to the table like a big girl I guess. That’s where she stayed most of the shower until she had to have a diaper change (do you think the word diaper is weird or am I alone on that?). My SIL changed her for me so that I could get Cassie pictures. Well then Liss and baby girl were buddies. I guess it’s the initiation, if you change the diaper you can’t be so bad?

Baby girl was the youngest in attendance, but she was in good company, there was another baby who was 5 1/2 months. So, from here I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Week 37

How far along? 37 weeks 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: Like I said last week, don’t eat and then go to the dr to have yourself weighed, it’s really hard on your mental psyche!

How big is baby? Your baby’s the size of a winter melon! Yay! Baby has reached full term. She likely measures around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. She’s gaining about 1/2 ounce each day.

  • She’s practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking.
  • She’s getting her first sticky poop (called meconium) ready for her first diaper.

Week 34

How far along? 34 weeks 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: I was quite surprised after a weekend at the lake, my weight didn’t go up that much, score, right? I feel like a walking beached whale right now. Especially trying to get off the stinking bed! Oh, and you should have seen me trying to get out of the bed in the RV this weekend…

How big is baby? Baby is the size of a Butternut Squash. She weighs in at about 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. {Holy cow, is there room for that in there??}

  • She’s recognizing and reacting to simple songs if you’re singing them. (If you’re not, start! She may find them soothing after birth.)
  • She’s also urinating about a pint a day. {Lovely thought…}
