Do you smell that?
A short history lesson on the type of horses I show, the phrase “Fresh cattle” means a cow that has never been worked by a horse. We aren’t talking that the horse will eat the cattle… LOL

No, that 2014 wasn’t a mistake… I’m talking about last year… finally. Last year’s hay season sucked. I’ve grown up on a farm and I know that farm life throws curve balls at you all the time. I guess if you add in the fact that going into haying season I was 9+ months pregnant…
My grandpa grew up riding horses. That was one of his favorite things to do. A couple years ago he went on the hunt for the perfect horse. Everyone helped him track down a horse, when he finally wound up with this Appaloosa that he named Chico. As my grandpa got older it was harder…
So here recently my dad sent me this email. I can’t even begin to tell you how I giggled and how true it is, anyway to me. In fact, I grew up on a farm! Now my parents both had jobs outside the farm to support the farm, but I grew up on a farm…
This sweet little girl is 4 today. 4. How did that happen? I seriously don’t know. It seems like just 4 years went by in the blink of an eye. I’m sooooo proud of how she’s turned out and some days she leaves me shaking my head wondering how her mind got where it got!…
Do you know the snake story up to this point? If not, go read the post… I’ll wait. Okay, now you’re up to date, let’s move on. So, I was beginning to think people thought I was crazy (hush) because no one else had seen this snake. It was there though. So that evening after…
So as last Friday’s post stated, Practice Makes Perfect. And oh so long ago I tried to briefly explain what a Cutting Horse is, or really how you show one… all the rules, guidelines, etc. And I didn’t do such a hot job of trying to explain… but it’s really so in depth at times…
Haha. I was pretty sure you weren't feeding the cattle to the horses.
😉
Very interesting shots of the horse!
🙂
Have a great day!
Horses are such regal and beautiful creatures, you're lucky. I did not think you meant to eat the cows, of course I'm a vegetarian so I suppose I wouldn't 🙂
Haha, I love these pictures! From a horse's eye view. 😉

Funny post 😀 What a fun thing to be a part of…I've never been to a rodeo/western style horse show; from the looks of it, I'd love it! (not too many of them here in Finland, though ;D)
My QH used to nip the tips of my shoes when he got bored. Love your photos!

I'm not familiar with the headgear, bosal part of your gear. Looks interesting, like it would give you more lateral control than the bosal we use. Care to explain it?
How old is the horse? How long has it been cutting?
I really enjoyed reading the posts on your blog. I would like to invite you to come on over to my blog and check it out. God bless, Lloyd
