Age:
30
Friday Nights:
We haven’t had a normal Friday night in ages!
Hair Style:
I typically wear it down and straight or up in a ponytail.
Every now and again I curl it with my Chi.
I have long bangs that are growing into the rest of my hair and I’m in desperate need of a haircut.
Sadly my roots are growing out again and need to be fixed, so right now I have the whole Ombre look that was (maybe still is?) quite popular but it really wasn’t intentional on my part!

Favorite place to dine out:
Oh heck, I don’t know…
Favorite Outfit:
Sadly I’ve gained weight and seems most of my clothes don’t fit anymore.
Love Life:
Our marriage is strong.
Life is too short to argue all the time.
Remember, The first part is exciting, the second part is where the real depth comes in!

Home Life:
Our life is taking a different turn than we thought it would three years ago when we got married.
Our dogs still LOVE to litter our yard with their latest finds so we aren’t ever quite sure what we’ll find.

TV shows:
The Pioneer Woman’s cooking show on Food Network
Dancing with the Stars
The Middle
Nashville
Grey’s Anatomy
Friends Reruns
Big Bang Theory

Extra time:

What extra time?

I got myself a blogging gig for our local dive shop, until they don’t like my posts I guess :).
I still love to cook but sometimes feel like I have NO time.

What excites me:
 *Playing with my camera
*Spending time with my husband
*Riding horses
*Blogging
*Tbug cooking with me
*Diving

A moment I never want to forget:
*Just spending time with my family
*Scuba Diving
*Making new friends
*Going back to school and feeling really dumb
*My Morelli Dog, we lost him a few weeks ago 🙁

The One Where I'm Not a Fashion Blogger

So have you ever wondered why I’m not a fashion blogger?

Exhibit A:

Lately this has been my go-to outfit.  Jeans (in this case some Old Navy pair I found in the closet), a Tshirt I bought in Hawaii (they were like 10 for $20 or something), My bling belt I bought in Branson down on the landing, my belt buckle I won showing horses and my boots that I bought the first year we were married.

Who would want to dress like me?

And then the posing.  Oh the posing.  Someone, please come give me a fashion make-over (but don’t do anything with my belt/buckle!! or boots) and someone please teach me how to pose!

So this weekends plans are to bale hay.  Fun, right?  We’re doing square bales which means I have to get my muscles on!  I went and ran on the treadmill Wednesday at the Y in town and actually enjoyed it.  Holy cow, someone slap me because I really think I’m dreaming.  Must be that runners high or something you hear so much about.

So anyway I’m out!  Have a wonderful weekend!  What are your plans??

Revolt me

So you know that workout regimen I’ve been doing… Revolt?  I’m still in love with it.  It is extremely challenging.  Oh and did you know that I’ve been doing this for a few (ha) weeks now and it still challenges me ever single day?  Sadly on Friday when I was doing my upper body workout my arms and shoulders were extremely sore and tired and worn out.  That’s good, right?  That’s what they tell me!

There is also a new website that Nichole has been working on diligently with her wonderful people so you definitely should check it out.  I mean what can it hurt?  Oh and let me tell you, it can hurt, but it’s a GOOD hurt.  Just sayin!

Well Read Individual

I love to read.  The imagination of it all is great.  Sadly, sometimes I feel like I just don’t have enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want and still get sleep.  So when I read about bloggers who go through 100 books a year, etc, plus they’re married, have a job, etc etc etc, I just am in shock and awe as to how they do it all!  I struggled it felt like getting through 10 books for this challenge.  Part of my problem is I have quite a few books I’ve started, just not finished.  Apparently patience or ADD or something kicked in and no I don’t have ADD although I sometimes think that everyone has a very mild case because people are so easily distracted.  I dunno…. I’m no expert by any means!  Anyway, Here are the 10 books that I read cover to cover and considered for my 101 list.  One more thing to check off.  yehaw!  They were all good reads and brought different things to the table, although there is a definite pattern between cooking and photography, don’t you think 🙂

Book’s read for the 101 List:

1.  The Pioneer Woman Cooks Cookbook: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl
October 2010 (yes I read it cover to cover)

2.  The Everygirl’s Guide to Life by Maria Menounos
April 2011

A day in the life of…

Me 🙂

I’ve been seeing these around for a while, but do you know how hard it is to remember to take a photo of yourself or things you’ve done throughout the day?

So hubby and I started off the morning Tuesday reading my blog post after we ate breakfast.  I woke us up early thanks to my bladder (tmi? maybe) so we went ahead and got up.

While leaving for work is when I saw this beautiful sky!

And hubby gave me his heart.

Then I had to make sure I was out of the house in time to drop a package off at the post office before heading to work.  Remember I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go :).

As I was pulling away from the post office I saw this slug bug, so turned the corner, no one was coming so I stopped right in the road to shoot this photo and send a quick text and away I zoomed off to work.  Kind of a perk to small town life, especially early in the morning :).

As you can see I made it to work with time to spare… sort of anyway 🙂

We had webinar’s going on at work so I sat on the phone for a lot of the day either troubleshooting people’s problems, helping them sign up, or actually participating in the webinars :).

For lunch.  Oddly enough it was yummy!  And it looks like a lot but really it wasn’t.  My lettuce was really spread out on my plate :).

The rest of my lunch hour was spent blogging.

Then after work I met up with hubby and we headed to BFE.  I’m not sure if we were in Oklahoma, Kansas or Missouri because we were right on the border of all three states.

We were headed to this pool.

So that we could go scuba diving!  BTW throw your camera in the pool and let someone who doesn’t know that it is a water camera see you, they’ll think you’re nuts :).

By the time we were done and got dried off and changed it was 8:34, rainy and we were hungry.

So we headed to Hardee’s to grab dinner before heading home.  Pokey showed me how you “get ketchup”  I don’t think I’ll question him 🙂

I love the Frisco Burgers.  Good and fattening :).

And I was so happy to report that on our way home, I’m happy to scream from the roof tops that it was raining!!!!!  We like rain in these parts of the country!

I went home, jumped in the shower to wash the chlorine smell off and we crashed by like 10:30.  Real exciting life I lead huh?  Happy day friends…. It’s Friday!

I Want to be a Kid Again!!

Do you remember as a kid how we always wanted to “grow up”?  Wanted to be big.  Wanted to be strong.  Wanted to be on our own.

Yeah I’m thinking I want to be a kid again.  Let mom and dad deal with the problems of the world and I’ll be oblivious!  I want my most important decision of the day to be: Do I want Mac & cheese or a hot dog :).

Ah, that was the life!

Have you ever seen the movie, Legally Blonde?  If so, do you remember the scene where she was busy studying for the LSAT while all her friends were out enjoying Sorority/Fraternity type adventures?  I so felt her pain this weekend!

Hubby invited Earl and her kids over to pick cherries/swim.  At our house, we’ve yet to turn on the AC, partially because we’re being cheap :), but partially, it feels so good to have a breeze blowing through the windows and the smell from the outside coming in!  ah!  That’s the life, however… I heard them all screaming and yelling outside while I was inside studying.  Blech!

Yes, I’m complaining!  Yes, I’m grumbling.  Sorry!  I did stop for a real quick study break though to snap a few photos of them having fun!

Trying to look all innocent!

Marlie was keeping an eye out on them.

Cherry Break

And don’t worry, I got to participate in a little swimming action of my own… although I’m not 100% sure it was my idea!

Have a Happy Monday.  A week from today, I’ll be taking my finals.  I can’t decide if I’m happy or sad about that.  I think I’m a walking contradiction!

Calling One Calling All & I'm Accident Prone

So I decided I might do a little give away here on the ole blog today.

Maybe It’s the weather.

Maybe it’s the fact that I have a screw loose after the accident the other day.  {ok probably not}

Maybe it’s because I decided to try and cut the tip of my finger off… {More on that later}

Whatever the case is, One of you will be the lucky winner.

The prize can be for you or your kid or your grandkid or your neighbor or  your neighbors kid or your neighbors grandkid or, well you get the picture :).  Only thing is, I wouldn’t recommend this for a boy.  Just saying.

Here is what you could be the lucky winner of:

Although not that particular one because that’s my {step}daughters.  But one like that.

Now you can also choose your color.  I have 3 options.  The pink like you see above or:

A purple or yellow like the ones on my necklace.  And please don’t knock this picture too bad, I was tired apparently!

Now if you choose to spread the word, that’d be awesome, let me know and I’ll give you an added point, otherwise, leave me a comment to enter and also let me know which color you’d like, oh and please be a follower at least if you want in!  I’ll leave this open through Saturday March 31st at Midnight Central Time 🙂

Now skip down here if you want to see my poor finger!

This is what happens when you’re trying to make these things….

But only if you are clumsy like me!

And I’m giving you time to get past this

Although you’ll scroll past it anyway to get to the comments

But there was a small amount of blood involved.

I tried to cut the tip of my finger off.

And it didn’t feel good.

I wouldn’t recommend doing that for anyone!

It hurt!

Good Luck!!

Eureka Springs {AR} in Pictures

Very seldom can the hubs and I just “run off” like a lot of newly married couples do, what with our hectic schedule anyway and throw in every other weekend we have his daughter with things she has to do, wants to do, etc, it seems like we’re always on the run anyway.

Sunday, other than studying, I had nothing planned and neither did he… so we hopped in the car and headed off toward Eureka Springs, AR.  It was a Beautiful drive in!  Oh my goodness.

For the first time in what seems like years, we’re having a beautiful fall, given the high high temps we had this summer!

As we were driving in we noticed a “detour”  Now if you’ve driven down around Eureka Springs, it’s 2 lanes all the way up and down and all around swervey mountains… so we were wondering about this detour.  Well if you notice, the road just fell off the mountain, so they moved the lane over.

When we got there, we drove to the bottom of the hill, parked and went and played around the railroad station.  This building here was gorgeous, but condemned :(.

The Eureka Springs & Northern Arkansas Railroad Company.

Plus old farm machinery there too… HOW COOL! 🙂

I loved this sign!

Where you filled up the old steam engines.

Isn’t it amazing that is what holds one car to another and this was hooked to the engine, can you imagine how many thousands of lbs that holds by dragging all the cars together.  Amazing!

Then we walked around the area for a bit before driving back up into the “hustling” part of the city.

The famous Crescent Hotel that is supposedly haunted…. whooooooooooooooooo 🙂

Then we found the Crescent Spring.  Click on the photo to make it bigger if you’d like to read the writing 🙂

Now this manikin cracked me up… the wind was blowing just right that her sleeve was waving as if it were waving you in to the shop.  Obviously a still photo won’t show that though :(.

We got in my car at one point and this was what the temp read out… Holy cow in October?

Then we went and found the winery in town.  Keels Creek Winery & Art Gallery.  Hubs and I aren’t huge wine people, but we have a few we like and we are always willing to try :).  They had wine tastings 6 types for $5 plus you got to keep the glass.  We were like ok sure :).  Plus you get to try wines you might not try otherwise, and yes, there were a few I didn’t much care for.

Awe and this lovely thing came to great us.  I wanted to take her home!

I loved the wreath.  And at one point she opened a bottle for our tasting and we asked what they did with all the corks.  She said they make things out of them (ie) but they also give them to visitors so they gave me all the wine corks they had sitting around.  Now I’m ready to make my own wreath!

After we left the winery we headed for Beaver Dam/Beaver Lake

So not to shabby for an impromptu day, right 🙂
