Gooch Bros Grill – Joplin, MO

My mom spent 3 weeks in Germany during the month of May for work and missed Mother’s Day completely.  So when she got back, she took the Monday off as a recoup day, especially to try and get back on Missouri time.  She called me Monday morning and asked if I wanted to go to Joplin with her so I jumped in my car and buzzed on over to her house.

She went and got her nails done and then it was lunch time.  She asked where I wanted to eat and I told her I didn’t really care.  She gave me the option of Cheeseburgers or Mexican.  I told her she was the one who had been out of the country for 3 weeks so whatever she wanted, we’d go there.  She finally said she really wanted a Cheeseburger and Onion Rings so we wound up going to Gooch Bros. Grill.

When we first looked at the menu, mom was afraid they didn’t have onion rings, but I put her fear to ease because they did.

I snuck away to grab this shot because I thought the bike was cool.  I of course got my funny looks because I was taking random photos :).

Mom really wanted to start off with fried pickles.  You didn’t have to twist my arm.  And they were nice, 2 sides of ranch.  One for me and one for her.  I didn’t have to share.  The pickles were awesome.  I had to make myself quit eating them because I had a meal coming.

I went with The Philly Cheesesteak and subbed in fried jalapenos.  More ranch dressing.  yey!  The burger or sub or whatever you want to refer to it as was excellent.  The jalapenos were nice, not to spicy but they sure had a kick.  The ranch cooled them down.

Mom went with the Pig & Bull and subbed in Onion rings instead of fries.  She said it was excellent and hit the spot.

Here’s a few shots of the building.

And definitely the gumball machine.  You can get yourself a nice little treat just as you’re leaving.

Hello YUM!
