Do you smell that?
A short history lesson on the type of horses I show, the phrase “Fresh cattle” means a cow that has never been worked by a horse. We aren’t talking that the horse will eat the cattle… LOL

Poor Joey. Do you guys remember Joey? He is our family Llama. He’s the second llama my family has had. Llamas are good protector animals for our critters. I’ve heard of them spitting, the only time I’ve ever seen Joey spit though was at the sheep at feeding time when they ate his food :)….
When I was younger I was fairly active in the AQHYA (American Quarter Horse Youth Association) and even more so in the NYCHA (National Youth Cutting Horse Association). AQHYA holds a world show every year in Oklahoma City (it was in Ft. Worth when I showed). Youth from all over the US & World compete…
Friday brought a start to our day bright and early. The Open Semi Finals started at 8am. Now truthfully that means they bring the cattle in at 8am to be settled, and the actual show starts about 45 minutes later give or take. We missed the first horse. Not bad, right? During intermissions they have…
Last year I shared some wisdom from Troy Marshall comparing marriage and your dog. If you don’t remember it, I would recommend you go read his wisdom. Today, I’m at it again, imparting more wisdom, but this is based off your relationship with your horse. Again, it is Troy Marshall’s words, not mine, so don’t…
Have you ever heard of The Trail of Painted Ponies? They are statue horses that people collect that artists have representing anything under the sun it seems like. I'm not familiar with the headgear, bosal part of your gear. Looks interesting, like it would give you more lateral control than the bosal we use. Care to explain it?
How old is the horse? How long has it been cutting?
I really enjoyed reading the posts on your blog. I would like to invite you to come on over to my blog and check it out. God bless, Lloyd
