Cooking 101 with the Youngan

So for Christmas from Santa, Miss Tbug got some cooking supplies and a couple of cookbooks.  Today we are going to share with you our first recipe.  We are making Paula Deen Pancakes out of the Paula Deen’s My First Cookbook

So Here’s a shot of all ingredients needed (including the daughter ;))

First, you measure out the cup of baking mix.

And dump it in the bowl.

Measure out the baking powder

Then read more of the directions.

Now we need to measure out the sugar.

And dump it in.

Crack the eggs one at a time into a separate dish so you don’t get shell in the big bowl.

Then dump them in the bowl.

Whisk all the ingredients together.

Scrape down all the sides of the bowls so that you get all ingredients incorporated.

Then continue whisking.

Now read all the rest of the ingredients/directions so you are ready to go.

Now make sure daddy set the griddle to 375 degrees… oh wait he chose 350 so they didn’t burn… eh, it’s all good.

Now use the 1/4 cup to measure out the pancake batter and dump on the hot griddle.

And wait for the pancakes to get done on the other side (they will bubble on this side)

Now use a big spatula to flip the pancakes.

And let them finish cooking on the other side.

Once the pancakes are done, place them on a plate, butter, and syrup (or however you like to fix them).  Then pour yourself a glass of your fave breakfast drink.

and Enjoy!!!!

And who doesn’t like see food every once in a while?

Hope you enjoyed this cooking lesson as much as we did!!!

Ah, the yearly pilgrimage to Ft. Worth, Texas. Every year is different, obviously. This year as I was playing on Facebook during the 7 hour drive I saw where you ask Siri “What are you doing for Christmas?” This was her answer. If you play in Snapchat any at all I’m sure that you’ve seen…

I really like Bell Peppers… hubs is a bit on the fence about them.  Sometimes he likes them, sometimes he doesn’t.  He likes the colored ones much better than the green though.  However if you ever notice going to the store, the green are cheaper!  Go figure. We found a grocery story in Tulsa that…

  • Christmas 2018

This Christmas was quite a blur. Between buying and remodeling a house and Abug being at preschool, this Christmas season was quite the blur. They say that time doesn’t slow down, it only gets faster as you get older. I believe that is true. But I sure wish it would slow down! This year for…

  1. She looks so much like your hubby! You rock for getting her cooking supplies! I think all girls (and boys) need to learn the basics of cooking at a young age! And I 'heart' that red bowl… where did you find it?

  2. She is so stinkin' adorable! and I love her jammies! 🙂

I love that you got her a cookbook and whatnot, and who doesn't love Paula Deen?!

She'll make a man very happy one day if you guys are already teaching her to cook. Great parents! 🙂

  3. So cool! Now you must color your pancakes. We always do. Sometimes they are red(ish), green, orange, yellow….etc. And they taste just as yummy!
