Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

First off, I was halfway MIA toward the middle of last week, but you wouldn’t have noticed unless you wondered why I didn’t comment. Holy cow I got slammed! We had a conference for work and it took me away from the time I got to work, until I finally made it home at night. Hey it helped with the groceries though, they fed us dinner every night! 🙂

Lindsay over at A Small Town Kind of Life tagged me in an eight question questionnaire. Here are her questions and my answers 🙂

1. If you were stuck on a desert island, what 4 items would you bring with you?
1. My Husband
2. My Puppy Dog
3. A Map
4. And a boat to leave there… haha

2. What is your favorite thing to do when you have nothing to do?
Does sleep count?? No? Ok… um…. I love to cook, take pictures, and sleep 🙂

3. What is your best asset?
My husband says I’m very intelligent. I think my best asset is the fact that I keep at it when someone says, “You can’t do it.” Wanna bet? I’m persistent!

4. What is your favorite restaurant and why?
Oh if we are in a big city, My fave restaurant is the Melting Pot. It’s so yummy!!! or Romano’s Macaroni Grill. I LOVE Italian!!! If we are closer to home, I love Olive Garden or Zios because I LOVE Italian food. Bring on the carbs! If we are in Ft. Worth, then it’s definitely Joe T. Garcia’s down by the old stockyards because their Mexican food is outstanding! If we’re in Tulsa, bring on Cafe’ Ole’… Southwest food, does it get any better than that? Oh wait I must have multiple favorite restaurants or else I didn’t answer the question right….

5. What do you prefer, fancy night out on the town or movie/chips at home?
oh I absolutely love both. The fancy side of me loves getting dressed up and being schlepped away to some fancy restaurant, but the practical side of me says, “That money can be used for better things.” Decisions decisions. In the end, my practical side usually wins over, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been on fancy nights out before 🙂

6. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?
I want to go to 3 places and it’s so hard to pick between them. My grandmother was half Greek and who wouldn’t want to visit lovely Greece, although with the politics they’ve been having over there, maybe I’ll wait until it winds down a bit. So next would be Hawaii… I can just picture it now, sitting on the beach, watching sunset after sunset, drinking a nice fruity drink and heading to a luau… ok so after that would be Australia. I’ve always wanted to go to the land down under, partially because I really want to know if their drains go in reverse of ours. hahaha… ok well more reasons than that but still, inquiring minds want to know! But I guess for now I’ll keep dreaming and when I hit it big in the near future I’ll go to all three 🙂

7. What is the number 1 thing on your Christmas list this year?
OMG I suck at what I want for Christmas. I always feel bad when people ask me that because what if what I want is to expensive, or what if what I want isn’t pricey enough and they want me to pick another thing. btw, I suck at making decisions! But I’m getting better 🙂

8. What is your favorite holiday (which holiday and why) activity?
So my favorite holiday must be Christmas because my favorite time of year is between Thanksgiving and Christmas just because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the atmosphere. So my fave Christmas activity would have to be going to the different holiday parties to celebrate with all my close friends and family. Unfortunately due to distance, that’s sometimes the only time of year I get to see some of them.

I’m supposed to tag 8 people with eight questions, but I’ll have to think of questions and get back to this :(… I know I’m a slacker!

We hit 1 month together last week. Our wedding was at 11am on September 4th, 2010. People got our invites and saw the 11am and thought it was September 11th. So one of our friends who missed our wedding gave us this as a one month present.

At our work conference last week I fell in love with a ladies camera. She has a Nikon D80. I want to upgrade my Canon XS and fell in love with her Nikon. She put her external flash on my Canon and it was “hot”. Look at poor PC’s face!! He also got to play with her Nikon too. He’s a Nikon boy!

My Canon didn’t like her Nikon flash!

One of the nights we went out bowling. $5 for 2 games and shoe rental. Not bad!! We had 2 guys from branches come be the “hecklers”. One is from a branch in Texas. The other was from North Carolina. I’ll let you guys who is who 🙂

{six}
We had a nice turnout for our conference. Out of about 150 branches in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, we had about 80 branches represented.

I had one day of vacation I had to use or lose by Saturday. We don’t work on Saturday’s so that left me one day, Friday. This was the sunrise I witnessed on Friday morning. And that is our hayfield. Isn’t it beautiful? We baled Friday night and Saturday morning and got 12 3/4 Large Round Bales. That’s excellent off as little ground as we actually baled. And it was a second cutting for the year. Not bad for our extremely hot summer! We only got 11 bales the first time.

We dog sat for PC’s sister this weekend. Mazie doesn’t like men for some reason. Sunday morning we walked down our driveway and back, she came although she didn’t want to and I went in the house. PC went to bring her in and she ran down the drive, under the gate and left onto the outer road. I had to go get her. By the time I got to the gate she’d come back and looked like, what’s up? We got a puppy of our own and I had a hold of her and she peed down my leg while I was walking up the drive so needless to say I wasn’t the happiest person in the world. LOL

I won a giveaway from Alyssa over at My Husband’s Watching Tv…
Thank you so much! I love it!

We’re pretty sure Bear got stolen :(. PC and I have both been pretty bummed about this and we’re going on 3 weeks, almost 4 so I’m afraid he isn’t coming home :(. We finally went on the hunt for a new dog and Thursday night got a puppy. We’re making her an inside dog so that hopefully no one will steal her! Her name is Audrey. In this picture, she was staying the night with my parents last night and I told PC to pack her an overnight bag. Well he packed her in it too… lol. She looks distressed b/c her food was underneath her and we were trying to take her picture. I’ll have more about her in another post, you can count on it 🙂

I participated in a scarf swap. I got my scarf this weekend. My swap partner was Lindsay from Lee La La. I love the scarf doll! Thanks!!!

Okay I know I covered a lot of ground. Sorry I’ll quit babbling 🙂 Hope you have a fabulous Monday!!!

Peace, Love & Randomness!

  1. Yes, sleep counts! Hahaha I say so because it's my favorite thing.

I've never been to Macaroni Grill or the Melting Pot and that dog is adorable!
