Caleco’s Bar & Grill – St. Louis, MO

Spread the love

After we left Union Station we were trying to determine where to eat dinner.  As we were walking down Broadway discussing our options, we stumbled across Caleco’s Bar & Grill.  We decided to go in and take a chance.  And what a good chance it was.

We started with rolls.  These rolls were fabulous.  I really wanted a second one but didn’t want to fill up on bread before dinner.

Hubby’s dinner came with a salad.  Of course, he chose Ranch dressing and I snagged a few bites of it :).  I loved their choice of cheese on this salad, Provel Rope Cheese.  In fact, I was making sure all the cheese was eaten before we were through with the salad… lol :).

Above the bar were railroad tracks.  I’m pretty sure I saw at least 3 trains going around both directions.  It was quite cool.

Since we had Italian for lunch, hubby was in the mood for a steak.  He went with the 14oz Rib Eye grilled Medium Rare and a side of American potatoes.  The butter on top of the steak was seasoned up and was an extra taste to an already tasty prepared steak.

When it came time for me to order, I was torn with what I wanted.  I finally decided to go with the Pesto Chicken.  It was bowtie pasta with chicken, tomatoes, red onions and mushrooms tossed in Pesto.  It was delicious.

So happy we came across this place.  The next day while talking to a gal in from Chico, CA, she and her family had eaten at this place the same night we had and they were impressed as well.
