Now This is Fun!!!
So I was perusing around on my fave blogs and ran across a dialect Vlog both with Hannah and Jessica and thought… I’ve been wanting to try my shot at a Vlog… why not!
There are a list of words to say and then some questions to answer. I hope you’ll all decide to participate because I’d LOVE to hear what you sound like too. Don’t laugh to much at me and the white cord around my neck were iPod earphones that I kind of forgot were there… woops 🙂
Here’s the list of words/questions:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
- What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
- What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
- What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
- What do you call gym shoes?
- What do you say to address a group of people?
- What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
- What do you call your grandparents?
- What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
- What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
- What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Hope you enjoy and don’t make too much fun of me!!!!
Cute! You sound very similar to us in lovely Ohio 🙂 And I haven't ever heard that old wives tale about raining while the sun in shinning… interesting!
Whoo hoo! Cain't wait to try this! I'll do it tonight and post tomorrow.
I call it “sunshine showers” when it rains while the sun shines. I don't have the courage to do a vlog, but it looks like fun. I love dialects. Everyone thinks my husband talks “funny.” He sounds sort of red-neck Floridian, but he's never lived outside of Idaho until last year. Who knows?
haha I like the way you said LAWYER…most of the other ones I notice a little difference but that's normal…some people just pronounce things differently but I have never heard anyone say lawyer like you…haha!
This was great and it was great to put a voice to the writer!
Haha, I was about to call you out for being at work until you said you were at your husbands cubicle! 🙂
I LOVE that you did this vlog! So great to put a voice to your blog now, adorable and I'm in love with your short hair. Okay, I'm done.
We call them sun showers =)
Cute Vlog! I am often told that I have no dialect. OH well =) I love knowing what people's voices sound like =)
Oh POP! I love you!!! Haha. YOu are so cute. I think I will do this on Wednesday! Fun.
yay!!!!! i'm so happy to see you in person!!! so fun!
yay!!!!! i'm so happy to see you in person!!! so fun!
So fun! I love that you did this 🙂
hehe What a fun post!!!!
Awww! I'm SO bummed, the sound on my ole' puter quit so I can't hear ya!
Thanks for the shoutout 🙂 And South West Missouri gives you a bit of an accent. Actually, one day we need to chat about my interesting experience in SW Missouri. We flew into KC and drove to Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Oh lordy, it was a trip!
I loved this idea. But oh my, y'all will soooooo laugh at me.
The sound started working, so I got to come back and hear this! Lol! How fun! I wish I had a webcam, although like The Wife.. I would probably be laughed at. 😉
CUTE!!! You do have a bit of an accent in comparison to us canadians! xo
I heard a bit of southern twang when you said lawyer 🙂 What a fun idea.
Coming from CA Girl
Nice to “see” you. 🙂
Although I live in Oregon (pronounced Orygun), I grew up in Missouri. I'm rather passionate about how the name is pronounced. My mom is from Kansas and she says it it “wrong”. I know what the dictionary reads, but there is no “a” in Missouri. 😉

LOVED THIS! You are so sweet! 🙂
You are EXACTLY how I expected you! 🙂 These dialect blogs are fun. I love getting to hear the voice behind all the blogs that I read!
