What do I do

What do I do?  That’s a good question…  Part of the answer is I can’t answer with my “job” but that’s ok because who would want to bring boring old work into this post anyway :).  What do I do?

I love and follow God.  I place all my trust in him although some days I wonder what he was thinking, but he’s God and he can take it and he gets me through tough times.  I love my husband and try to be the best wife possible.  I know I falter sometimes because we are all human and no one is perfect.  I try very hard to be as perfect as I can though if that counts.  I am a {step}mother who loves my sweet {step}daughter as if she were my own.  Anyone who didn’t know I didn’t have her generally couldn’t ever tell she wasn’t “mine”.  I try to be the best daughter, granddaughter, niece to all my loving family whom without them my life wouldn’t be whole.  My friends are the other portion to round out my wholeness.

I prefer to pay my bills on time, not owe anyone anything, pay my debts when they are unavoidable.  I stay out of drama when at all possible and steer clear of the drama makers.  I am spending time talking to Earl and perusing pinterest for ways to clean my house and make it spotless.  I’m spending time with my loving girlfriends (aka my 3 dogs).  I’m trying to laugh more, love harder, and forgive those who have done me wrong.

Coke is my weakness, the pop not the drug just for clarification :).  But I have given up pop and very seldom drink it.  To get my sweet kick I still drink sweet tea.  My number one go to for drinks though is water anymore.  I’m a recent coffee addict, as in the last 2 years and if it doesn’t have one tsp of sugar and creamer I’m out.

I love to try new recipes.  Cooking is one of my passions.  My other passions fall along the lines of taking photos and riding/showing cutting horses.  I’ve mentioned before that I was riding horses before I could walk and that is an extremely true statement.  The fun part about all of this is my sweet husband and my wonderful daughter love to experience these things with me as well.

I prefer the heat over the cold.  I love to be outdoors but at the same time there are some tv shows I love to watch.  I learned to drive a truck at 4 years old, a standard transmission at 12, a tractor at 13 and I’ve been with my parents in the hayfield for as long as I can remember.  I got a degree to be a high school agriculture teacher and as I’ve been asked many times, yes I know I’m a female with an agriculture degree, that’s perfectly A-OK.

So when you ask what I do, I know this is a bit of a loaded question but there is no one way to define me and who I am and what I do.  So hopefully this is a better insight in to me.

Happy Monday!

Last week I stated that on Easter Grandma and I looked for block inspiration. Well, we came up with two for this week’s blocks. We chose this first picture because of my mom and the “red bird.” It is a way to incorporate some of my mom into the quilt. The second picture was chosen…

I got a letter in the mail today, something most people don’t hear anymore these days. It’s either a text message (which I tend to be the queen of) or an email, which too are becoming more rare, but letters in the mail… those are almost unheard of these days. I was recently reading a…
