I Created Two Monsters & a Thank You!!

Spread the love

Update to yesterday’s post – Thanks so much to Sherry, Heather, HickChickBritt, Chell for helping me!  It was driving me nuts!  I did google it, plus those lovely ladies helped me.  I think part of my problem was my maiden name ended in a S however I found out I’d just have added an -es to my last name which still seems odd to me, but I got it fixed in none other than Paint.  So I fixed it and again, thank you to all that helped me!  I am forever grateful to you!

Ah, it’s that time of the week again, we’re almost to the end of the week.  I have a fabulous proud mommy moment that I really wanted to share last week, however, I didn’t get around to it.  I know not cool!  But good news, I’m here now!  In fact, just in time to get my {step}daughter this week.

So two weeks ago my nephew stayed the night with Tbug.  Now remember Tbug LOVES to ride horses and I guess on Saturday night of that weekend she asked my dad (her grandpa) if she could ride horses about 50 different times.  Ok maybe not that many but I heard it was a bunch, that was as long as he wasn’t busy.

So we took Tbug and Dill Pickle over to my parents house to ride.  We saddled up Aloha, KG and Mini Me.  Tbug started out on Aloha and finally we got Dill Pickle to get up there too.  Now I guess when he was a little kid he fell off a horse and has been scared to death ever since.

We’ve had him out to the house once before and I got him on horse back but it takes a lot of convincing!

Well he rode around with Tbug for a few minutes and then decided he’d had enough and got off.  From there Tbug rode around on Aloha a little more and then decided she wanted to ride KG.

Now Tbug LOVES Aloha and when we’ve asked if she’d like to ride KG, she always seems a bit hesitant.  He is a big horse compared to Aloha.  But when Tbug asked if she could ride KG we all agreed, Ok if you’d like.

She walked him around the pen a few times and then decided she wanted to get back on Aloha because she was tired of “just walking”.  Hubby looked at dad and me and asked if we told her she just had to walk.  We were like no, so hubby said, well kick him up into a trot.  He’s a much smoother ride than Aloha, partially because he’s bigger so he has a larger, easier stride.

He trotted about 4 strides and then picked it up into a lope because KG would rather lope any day.  When she went past she yelled, I LOVE THIS HORSE.  LOL,  Oh crap I lost my horse now not only to hubby but to Tbug also.  And poor dad, he lost KG to me… LOL :).

So now back to Dill Pickle, he’s been walking around acting kind of bored and so we finally convinced him to climb on Aloha by himself and ride her around.

That day we created 2 monsters 🙂

And now for your viewing pleasure, I snagged two videos, one of each of them doing something out of their comfort zone.

  1. Awesome! I would love to get my oldest on a horse soon. I never really had an opportunity growing up. My uncle actually trained horses, but I couldn't ride the horses he was training, and his horses were all pretty big and high spirited. I did ride one when I was a teenager with my high school friend and think I would have really enjoyed it. I think it is a great way for kids to interact with beautiful creatures and nature.

  2. How fun! I agree with Kellie! I love it when kids do things outside. Chris and I have decided no video games at our house. We want kids that enjoy doing things outside as much as we do.

  3. How awesome!! Look at Tbug go! She was doing great.
And so good the nephew got brave and tried again. Love it!

Perfect PMM- thanks for linking up. Sorry I haven't been around much this week

  4. Makes me want to ride a horse! I've only been on one once before, and it did not go well. lol They look like pros!!
