Mother’s Day – Coronavirus Style

If there is one thing this Coronavirus season has brought… it has brought a lot of people staying in and staying away. But… it has brought a lot of people wanting to get out into the great outdoors. Us included. Even though I’ve spent a lot of time outside.

And for some reason, we thought it would be fun to take up hiking. Yup, you read that correctly. Why not? I have been working my butt off here lately outdoors (which when hubby isn’t working his real job, it’s made him work outside too, plus our little. She’s great). So we thought it would be fun to take a break. And you know, go hiking. Something we’ve never really done… but my little has been wanting to do things like that so now is the perfect time.

Happy Mother’s Day to me :).

Hubby did a little research and decided that we were going to go to Natural Falls State Park in Oklahoma. Oh gosh, this place was beautiful… and in places, packed. There were soooooo many people trying to get out and about. But once you got away from the main falls area, it was fairly quiet.

We even wound up on the wrong path that felt like it was straight uphill. I didn’t quite go up as far as the little and hubby. As they were coming back down he was trying to keep both of them upright. I got video of that because it was hilarious.

The next day we had our Mother’s over for dinner. Kind of a late lunch really.

One thing I love to do is make bread. While the feel of raw dough on my hands drives me nuts, I absolutely LOVE to make bread.

And baked potatoes. But actually I made these lovely things into Twice Baked Potato Casserole. Yum.

Hubby decided to do Ribs.

The little made me sit down. She painted my toes.

Oh and I forgot he decided to do smoked chicken legs too.

And our Carrots that my mom ALWAYS asks if this is my aunt’s recipe. Nope.
