Bandaid’s Hurt
Did you know band aids hurt? Is it Bandaid or is it Band aid? I’m not really sure… If you ask spell check it says 2 words but it doesn’t always know best.
After going to the ER and being diagnosed with Influenza B, Abug was put on medicine to make her get better. The ER’s recommendations were to do a follow up with the primary care physician. Sadly we don’t have one right now. The reason being, ours quit practicing in July 2016. I’ve taken her back to the doctor’s office where our pediatric doctor was last December when she was really sick and exposed to pneumonia but otherwise, we just haven’t found a primary care doctor yet.
After a week of not getting better and still running fevers, I decided to call the doctors office and see if they could have either one of the doctors or the nurse practitioner get her in just to make sure either A) the ER didn’t miss something or B) she was getting better or whatever was causing this. It was all very frustrating.
The nurse practitioner was able to get her in and check her out. After running some tests, they determined she had an ear infection, which they said is pretty common in young children. Their nose to ear ratio is very short and with excessive snot build up from the flu it can cause bacteria to grow in the ear and bam, ear infection.
Finally, an easy fix. They put her on some pink medicine. So after a week of all of this, the 2 things she complained about was the pink medicine, but more so that darn bandaid at the ER they used after pulling out the IV they hooked her up to.
