Springfield Family Restaurant – Springfield, MO

Spread the love

I’m just going to overload you with restaurant reviews this week.  I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself.  Besides, this was breakfast, so totally counts as something different, right?
A couple weeks ago we decided to go to Branson.  We had free tickets to see the Haygoods plus we have season passes to Silver Dollar City, so we decided to head down and make it a day.  We also figured we should eat a big breakfast.  We knew we’d be eating an early dinner so we were going to try and skip lunch (Tbug didn’t agree with us there…. but we still managed).

In college I always loved to eat at this particular restaurant called Iggy’s.  A few weeks prior to that when we went to the Farmer’s Market with Doti, Doti and I decided we’d eat at Iggy’s for breakfast, we just drug hubby along.  Well it turns out Iggy’s moved and the restaurant/building is now called Springfield Family Restaurant.  We figured we’d give it a chance.  It was almost just like Iggy’s.

So on our way to Branson, we knew this would be the place to eat a big breakfast!

Springfield Family Restaurant.

Tbug deciding what she’d like for breakfast.  I knew instantly what she’d choose and she didn’t let me down.  What’s funny is she calls Pancakes – Pantcakes for some reason.  I keep correcting her.  Someday she’ll call them correctly the first time!

Children’s menu.

The last time I ordered an Italian Omlet.  This time I got in a hurry, didn’t read the menu, and mistakenly ordered a Greek Omlet with my choice of potato, I chose Greek Potatoes with Tzatziki sauce.  Ok this was no disappointment.  It was fabulous!  Tbug wound up trying it and loved it plus she ate over half of my potatoes with the Tzatziki sauce.  She wanted to eat the sauce on everything!.

The it comes with a choice of biscuits, biscuits and gravy, toast or pancakes.  I went for the biscuits and gravy.  I’m a sucker for biscuits & gravy.  Tbug helped me meat those too.

Hubby got a Saturday Market Skillet which had bacon & sausage & potatoes and 2 eggs cooked your way (he went with over easy) and veggies.

Then he had the same choice of toast, biscuits, etc, he went with pancakes.

Tbug tried his skillet and was pleased with it too.  Hey when you have a 9 year old kid who will try anything, that’s quite an accomplishment, but then when she likes everything she’s trying, that says something, right?!?!  In fact, if we don’t offer her to try it, she’ll sit there and say, boy that looks good.  That’s her cue to, I really want to try that :).

Have you liked them on facebook?

Btw, they have more than just breakfast… just saying.  This was just always our place to come for great breakfasts in college.  It doesn’t disappoint now!

**Again these opinions are all my own.  They don’t know me.  Plus all pictures are mine taken with my iPhone unless otherwise stated**
