10 Things to Smile About January

1. It’s fun to think that hubby and I have been together for 5 1/2 years. Now that might not be long for most people but it truly excites me. Part of the reason is in just a few short days he’ll be my longest relationship on record and I’m totally okay with that!

2. Tbug turned 12. Dang, where has the time gone? I’ve been in her life (or she’s been in mine…) for almost 6 years now. It’ll be 6 years the first part of August. Want the exact day? Friday July 31st, 2009. So I guess the end of July to be exact. That night she introduced me as her daddy’s girlfriend even though we weren’t dating at the time, we’d just been on a date…

3. I went to the New Year’s Day dive but I chickened out this year when it came to actually diving… it was cold that day!

4. We had a day honoring Veterna’s with a Try Scuba Day.

5. I got to be involved in an extremely worthy cause give away.

6. Baby girl’s hair went up in pigtails and she was a hoot. I swear it changed her personality and she has a pretty great personality without the pigtails!

7. My baby girl turned 7 months old, although I think I want to cry at that too. She’s growing up way to fast. She’s going to be 20 before I know it. Why I picked 20 who knows. and that would be referring to years not months. months will definitely come faster than years! okay I’m going to stop now before I start crying!

8. I got a new phone case. It feels different than my other one so I’m not 100% sure how much I like it but I love the picture on it!

9. I went to my Sister in law’s baby shower. (btw, if you’re reading this, you’re old. hey I have to get my jabs in when I can. And if you aren’t here and reading this… she picks on my hair.)

10. Here’s a good laugh for you. I swear I”m losing my mind. I made these Brownies for Sunday Night Dinner. Yeah I was in a hurry trying to get them in the oven so that they’d bake… I completely forgot to put sugar in them. So we had sugarless brownies. They weren’t bad but the texture was a bit off… but ice cream solved the whole thing.

10 Things to Smile About August

Holy cow, where did the month of August go? Seriously?!?! Yesterday (the 28th) would have been my grandpa’s birthday. Boy, I miss him every day! (as well as my other grandma and grandpa… I wish heaven was a place we could visit!). But anyway with the thought that his birthday would have been yesterday means that we are at the end of the month… And at the end of the month, it is time for 10 things to Smile about hosted by EmmyMom.

1. Amendment 1 passed. I was for it passing. I did a lot of research and there was a lot of crap put out there by the wrong people and that is the stuff people wanted to believe. It only passed by 2,500 votes or so, but it passed. That’s what matters!

2. Baby girl had a really bad day but that meant lots of mommy/baby snuggles for me!

3. I’ve found a newfound love for meatloaf. I think I had it 6 times in 3 weeks or something like that. YUM! (more…)

10 Things to Smile About in July

Did anyone realize today is the last Tuesday of July? Wow I didn’t until just now when I was reading through blog posts and saw EmmyMom’s Post… which is why I’m writing this… to link up with her 10 things to smile about in July.

Emmy Mom

1. It really has made me happy to get the little rugrats birth story written up. I was afraid I’d forget parts and not going to lie, hubby had to help me through some of it. Yikes! (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6)

2. Sleep. I know that sounds funny but what sleep I get I’m really happy about! Learning to run on lack of sleep has been interesting!

3. Celebrating the 4th of July.

4. Our first trip to the county fair (which I still need to blog about :)) (Instagram: Boomerbear)
//instagram.com/p/qUq9wUJQw9/embed/

5. Baby snuggles. Who doesn’t like baby snuggles? I truly didn’t think I was a baby person but this little one is bringing me around. (part of my not being was I never was raised up around babies. I was the youngest one)

6. We finally got all the hay done for the first cutting. We had a nightmare getting to that point. The tractor has issues, the mower broke a couple times, the big baler broke and caught on fire twice, the square baler had issues… oy! Then we borrowed a tractor that got a flat tire twice. Fun stuff. All in the middle of that we had a baby.

7. Hubby and I have been together for 5 years as of the 25th. We went on our first date back on July 25, 2009. I reshared part of our story, but for those who haven’t read it (written in 2010) here are all the back links in case you’re interested.
Part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7, part 8, part 9, part 10, part 11, part 12, part 13, part 14, part 15, part 16, part 17, part 18, part 19, part 20, part 21, part 22, part 23, part 24, part 25, part 26, part 27, part 28, part 29, part 30

8. Holy Cow, Peanut turned a month old. How is mommy’s baby growing up so fast????

9. Made footprint and handprint ornaments with mommy’s little peanut.

10. Peanut “rode” her first horse. Plus I got on the back of a horse (even though I’m still not supposed to) since September of last year.

And that’s a rap! 🙂

10 Things to Smile About June

So you know that I’ve been claiming I’ve lost my mind, right? Well I swear I have! So anyway I point this out because guess what…. I remembered that today is the last Tuesday of June (wait, where did June go!?!?) and that means that it’s time to link up with EmmyMom for her 10 Things to Smile About {Insert Month Here}

Emmy Mom

1. Wow, by this time next week, I could quite possibly have a baby…. Here are the weekly photos, although remember I got off a week somehow… Today we’re actually 2 days from my due date. (Week 35, Week 36, Week 37) (oh and we’ll have 38 which is actually 39 before the month is over but not today…)

2. We celebrated all the wonderful Father’s in our lives this month!

And my FIL who I can’t seem to find a picture of right now…

3. Tbug showed her first Cutting Horse at NCHA Day.

4. Tbug finished up her Scuba Diving Certification

5. Hubby and I worked on another round of Maternity Photos

6. I tried to break down the things that no one warned me about when it came to this pregnancy… or if they did, maybe I didn’t listen… or I can’t remember. I’m going with C… because I’ve lost my mind I swear 🙂

7. We made this which is soooooo much better than even this picture does it justice!

8. Summer school will be over this week. I’m kind of excited about that. cramming 16 weeks into 4 hasn’t been the most fun, especially since this pregnancy makes me exhausted all the time. I love naps… should that be it’s own number?

9. I like Cheeseburgers… I’ve mentioned this a time or two! Although I might have worn myself out on them… lol :). (I promise there is cheese on this burger, it’s between the 2 patties)

10. Saving the best for last… we’re looking at Baby girl being here either Friday of this week or Monday of next which is still this month. We shall see right? Now excuse me while I go lay in the fetal position because I’m scared out of my mind!

10 Things to Smile About January

Soooo… I forgot.  You forget?  Happened to me :).  Quoting my husband and I have no idea where he came up with that.  Anyway yesterday happened to be the last Tuesday of the month.  Do you know what the last Tuesday of the month is?  Well it just so happens to be EmmyMom’s monthly 10 Things to Smile About mem… yup, I forgot.  So here we are today making up for it.  Capeesh.  Hmmm did I spell that right?

Emmy Mom

This has been a super trying month at our house.  It’s been filled with a lot of scary moments and even more tears so lets dig through and try to find something to smile about, shall we?

1.  Hubby and I have been together for 4 1/2 years.  We’re closer now than ever before.  He always has my back and I always have his.

2. Tbug got a year older, although that makes me age too…. but if we’re still having birthdays and still getting older, that means we’re still alive so I’ll smile to that!

3. We made it through Week 13, Week 14, Week 15, Week 16, (and we’ll hit Week 17!!)

4. Even though the Chiefs kinda chocked, they made the playoffs for the first time in like 20 years.

5. I actually found the top 10 posts of 2013 which surprised me some.

6. I had a lot of people remind me I wouldn’t change anything, even though I sometimes question it….

7. Tori’s Cheer team won first place and won a spot for National Finals.

8. My family and friends have offered a lot of support to me during this extremely trying time.

9. We went and ate sushi with friends. Then I learned pregnant women shouldn’t eat sushi but I’m assuming that’s raw?  I don’t eat raw so….

10. I ate 3 donuts.

10 Things to Smile About December

It’s my favorite time of the year but sadly I’ve had a lot of highs and lows hit me this month.  Nothing real extreme by any measures, just enough that at times I didn’t feel like I was able to enjoy this time of the year.  But today’s main focus is 10 Things to Smile About hosted by Emmymom so that’s just what we’re going to do.  Smile!  In no particular order:

3. Decorating our Christmas tree.  I absolutely love our Christmas Tree and so decorating it as a family is one of the best times of the year!

8. The Review Extravaganza which just so happens to be going on through the end of this week.  Make sure you check it out!!

Emmy Mom

1. This. What more can I say about this really?  I guess that I wish some of the other scenes would have been free but dang it was fun!
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsWM1FJO1SQ]

10. I had a helper helping me wrap Christmas presents.

2. The fact that I finally announced that we’re expecting. I also announced to some friends via our Christmas card this year which sadly I mailed out a bit late because I was waiting for Peanuts photo to arrive!

6. Getting my boots shined.  What’s better than that?!?!

9. We were able to attend the Futurity this year! I Love Ft. Worth and I Love attending the NCHA Futurity!

4. Baking cinnamon rolls!  Just love it!

7. Peanut even got presents at Christmas 🙂

5. Even though I was in a funk, Christmas soooo made me smile.  Especially when they pointed out I had Grandma’s lipstick on my cheek.
