Quilt Block 9

Spread the love

Whew, it’s been a while since I was able to work on my quilt. I enjoy Monday’s, say it isn’t so… no, it is because Abug and I get to spend time with my grandma sewing on this quilt block top. Two weeks ago we weren’t able to sew because grandma had voting school. Since there was a poll coming up and she works the polls (ooo that could be read bad….) she had to learn how the voting poll equipment works. That was the day we got to teach Tbug how to sew and got started on her quilt top.

The second-week grandma was out of town visiting my aunt so we weren’t able to get together and sew. With that being stated, we got a little more behind on this quilt block we’re making. Remember, the lady giving the patterns gives out one per week. We’ve been doing them at a rate of 2-3 per week trying to get caught up, but this particular pattern was only 1 for the day. As you can see, it’s huge!

Initially, we were going to try and do gray chevron material that has pinks in it (since that’s Abug’s favorite color) but upon further investigation, getting the chevron pattern to sit correctly with all the HSP patterns was going to be difficult so we went with the orange polka dot and blue. After we made it, we like it but at the same time not sure we’re totally happy with it. Originally I wanted to use material from the previous 8 blocks, but in the end, we just did it this route. I’m still not sure we won’t go back and change it up a bit…
