40 Years….

So today, my father has worked for this company for 40 years.  Wow, that’s a really long time!  My mom is out of town for work so we celebrated this milestone last week before she left town with lunch with his co-workers & mom, hubby and me too :).

ignore the blurry phone photo!

So his boss compiled a list of things that happened the year my dad was hired.  Um… this was before I was born, so I had to look some of these up and some of these people.  I went ahead and included links (yes, I included links for things I knew too, I was on a google roll!)

  • Team of Goats

Yes you read the title right…. a team of goats. We went to the sheep & goat sale last night. Now you should know, I’ve had goats before.  I’m not real crazy about goats.  I prefer sheep.  But!!!  Kid goats (which are the babies) are absolutely adorable.  And really I prefer the Boer Goats, which…

  1. 40 years, that's a great accomplishment!

Gas was the pirce of a sucker? Can you even imagine!

Thanks for linking up and congrats to your dad.

  2. That's so cool that your dad has worked for the same company for 40 years! My mom and dad were married in July of 1972, I'll have to ask her if she remembers some of this! 😉

  3. Ok, the costs in 72 were INSANE! It makes me wonder what things will be like in 20 years from now. It's a scary thought. I really want gas prices to go back to $.36/gallon! DANG!

Happy 40th Anniversary to your daddy!

    Thanks for linking up!

  4. Congrats! I wish not only that we could go back to those prices, I wish that we could go back to the simpler times. Our bills wouldn't really be that bad if we didn't have to have every channel on cable, smart phones, internet, laptops, etc. We have come a long way, but it's not necessarily better! Haha.

  5. That is so awesome that he worked for the same company for so long!

And love those facts! That calculator is hilarious.

And wow the prices on things. Was 1972 really 40 years ago?? Man, I am getting old

  6. Congrats to your dad! Sounds like he's hard working & dedicated. Wonderful qualities to have

Do you know I did not know we actually had a longest day in history recorded? Quite interesting!
