El Dorado – Raymore, MO

Saturday was cold… Sunday was cold too, but Saturday was cold. I mentioned yesterday that it was supposed to snow on Saturday in Kansas City. It did but not like the predictions said but Maryville got it. My friends were at the Northwest Missouri game which was supposed to be played at Chiefs stadium but the game was moved north as the stadium was going to tarp the field for Sunday’s game. After the game, Dan, Carlene and Danielle met us for dinner in Raymore.

While we were waiting on them to get here, this is the snow we experienced. This is the bed of hubby’s truck. The roads were still clear though.

We’re Crazy

I’m really pretty sure the title describes it all! This last weekend was an interesting one… I think I say that a lot but it’s usually true. So I was going to attend a Missouri/Kansas Women Bloggers meet-up in Kansas City on Saturday but it was cancelled at the last minute kind of because there was bad weather in the weather predictions. I heard all the way up to 3-6 inches of snow at one point on Saturday.

Well there was a Chiefs game on Sunday and we had plans to go so that didn’t stop us from going to KC on Saturday anyway… we just let baby girl home so she didn’t have to endure the cold and we drove the truck so we had 4 wheel drive, just in case and away we went.

Since we got up to KC around 12:30-1 we decided to head to City Market. I swear this is one of our most favorite places to be. I absolutely love this place… Anyway we entered the far end which in the summer is completely full but in the winter, not so much. But it gave us a chance to stop and talk to the guy at Bloom Baking Company about bread.

We tried a few different types of bread and the bread pudding, OMG, the bread pudding. Then we decided to head on and check out all the fresh produce. We decided to buy some Jalapeños to make candied Jalapeños, some fresh green beans and some grapes to take to the game Sunday. Then it was time to find something to eat. Now at City Market, there’s lots of great places to eat but we finally decided to head back to Bloom and eat there.

We Thank You!

Whether you believe in war or not. Whether you believe in something or you don’t… there are those who have served this country for your right to your thoughts/beliefs/feelings. Today is the day to honor those people. So Thank you!

Yesterday my grandma named all those in my family who have served. I had a great great great grandfather in the Revolutionary War, a great great grandpa in the Civil War (the reason that part of my family wound up in this part of the country), a great grandpa who fought in World War I, both of my grandfathers fought in World War II, a great uncle who fought in the Korean War and my husband who served in Afghanistan.

This Weekend

Wow, this was an uneventful weekend really… Wanna know what I did? You better sit down because this will blow your mind… I worked on homework. There I said it… Is your mind blown by all that excitement. Here is what I worked on even…

This was/is for my Document Design class and is due by 11:59pm tonight. I’m not quite done but almost…. I’m getting there anyway!

I also worked on a photo shoot. It was a lot of fun and the family was GREAT to work with. Now I need to get editing on their photos.

Um… yeah… that’s about all I have… hope you enjoy my video :). Oh and hubby was voted in to the Missouri Governor’s Mounted Guard this weekend. Happy Monday!

Recipe: Pumpkin Balls

So I keep calling them that and my husband keeps making the joke that he has to find the tweezers and a magnifying glass but we finally found them. Oy! Anyway, we went to Dive club meeting last night and this is what I took…

So what you need, a can of pumpkin (or pumpkin puree), a Yellow cake mix, 1/4 cup water, 1 block of cream cheese, almond bark, vegetable oil, and coloring or candy melts for drizzle (optional).

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween? Nicole have you fallen off your rocker? No, I didn’t do any of my weekend posts in order so why not keep it that way? I told you the story behind baby girl’s Halloween costume and if you read my 365 post for October you saw her. You also could have seen her via instagram. Baby girl and I went to daddy’s work and grandpa’s work to walk around and see everyone.

We were able to get Tbug around 6pm on Friday so we picked her up and then went to hubby’s dad’s house to see him.

Scary sight, no? It was Halloween after all.

Grandpa M and the widdle sheepie.

From there we went to my grandma’s to see her.

And finally met up with my parents to celebrate hubby’s birthday (dinner).

Go Chiefs!!

Oh Kansas City Chiefs you did not disappoint again this weekend! Such a great game. And the best part was this was Tbug’s first stadium game so she got to see a win! Score!!

Thank God for a happy morning baby because this momma bear isn’t so happy in the morning, but baby girl smiles and I break into a smile too. She was sporting her KC Chiefs stuff and was ready for the game.

Earl, Moo and TB went to the game as well so we all rode up together in Earl’s Pathfinder. Hey it seats 7 and we had all 7 seats full :). Earl had balloons in her car for some reason. Hubby and the kids were picking on poor Baby girl and me rubbing them and sticking them in our hair.

Eventually 2 of the balloons wound up on the dash and pretty much rode the whole trip there. It was so great on the drive up passing people and seeing all the Chiefs jerseys and sweatshirts and stuff on the cars. We had to sport too, although we were all dressed in our Chiefs get up!

Normally we tailgate but because of the Chili cook-off the night before, we chose to meet up at 6:30 and drive up the morning of the game (it was a noon game) and eat dinner in Peculiar, MO at the Flying J Denney’s.

From there we got separated because we had to make a quick trip to Walmart. Dan told us to park in Lot 6 (I think…) and we wound up in the wrong parking lot and walked all the way to the stadium from BFE, seriously. I felt like I was running because I was carrying baby girl and trying to keep up with everyone. whew! I got my work-out! We finally met up with everyone in our normal tailgating spot.

Last year when hubby and I went to our first game they had a huge get up set up in front of the stadium so we took Tbug over to see if all that was set up, sadly, it was not. So we went into the Pro Store. Holy Cow, don’t go in there at 1 hour to kick-off, it’s a mad house. So we went ahead and went on up to our seats.

This little one didn’t sleep through the whole game this time. She played with daddy 1st quarter, watched the game from my lap second quarter, ate during 3rd quarter and halfway through 3rd went to sleep and slept through 4th. We’re making progress.

Now we didn’t realize how far we parked away from the stadium until we decided to walk back to the car afterwards. Luckily the golf cart came to our rescue and drove us to the car. Wow, we were way out there!

Baby girl’s first golf cart ride.

She says she enjoyed the game. The final score, 24 Chiefs 10 Jets. Go Chiefs!

On the way home, we stopped in Harrisonville to feed all of us. We chose Pizza Hut. They never claimed it but I think they forgot to make our pizza and then they made the wrong one. Woops. Oh well we finally got our Chicken Bacon Ranch (Tbug picked it) and it was awesome!

With the time change it was a lovely night drive home. It was only like 6:30 in this picture.

Someone was exhausted when we got home.
