Butt Rub

I’ve told you that my husband is all about the spices.  Anywhere we go, we both look at them trying to find some we don’t have or want to try.  When we made our trip to Kentucky in 2010 (wow that was a long time ago) we stumbled across something called Bad Byron’s Butt Rub.  We bought some.  We’ve used it on all kinds of things from meats to vegetables to even stirring it into mac & cheese to jugge (sp??) it up.  OMG we fell in love.  And by the way, this isn’t a sponsored post, promise.  We paid for everything prior and in this post, we just love the stuff so much.

There was a website so hubby went on to order us some more.  You have NO idea how good it is sprinkled in Mac & cheese.  In fact Zebra Girl and Tbug loved it the other weekend when I did it for them.  Yup, that good.

So hubby went on line and ordered us this little gift basket.

It came with a Tshirt and you can see if you want to go onto their youtube video they have ways to cook with it as well.

New Puppy, Say What?!?!

About 6 months to a year ago, my dad was driving around with Mudflap in the bed of his truck.  Mudflap LOVES to go for rides.  In fact, if he thinks that dad is going for a drive and he should be going, he’ll stake out dads truck.  If dad makes it out without him and then comes back, Mudflap gets in the bed and WILL. NOT. GET. OUT.

So anyway dad and Mudflap were driving around when a couple stopped my dad to ask if my dad had a Blue Merle Aussie in the bed of his truck.  Dad said yes.  They said that they had an Aussie and worked out an arrangement with my dad that when she came in heat that they could bring her by and Muddy would breed her.

Dad got first pick of the litter and this weekend, she finally came home to my parents house.  Is she not precious?

As of right now, silly girl doesn’t have a name, but we’re working on it.

Guard Dog

Back in May of 2012, I shared a story with you about how the dogs apparently take joy in running across the roof.  I don’t know if they’re using it as their own jungle gym or what… but they absolutely love running across the roof.  It quit for a while and has started back up here in the last month or so, except this time around we generally don’t catch them in the act.

So last Wednesday night hubby and I were sitting here in the house just chilling and we heard the dogs up on the roof.  Every time we run out to yell at them, we can’t seem to catch them so we just sat here.

A little while later, hubby had to get up and while he was up went and looked out the front door.  He told me to quietly get up and grab my camera.  I looked out the door and I found our “Watch Dog.”

After I snagged my pictures (2 through the glass door and one once I stepped outside, obviously she saw me) we had to yell at her to get off the roof.

Thank Your Veterans!

World War I started on July 28, 1914.  It officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, but the end of the war was said to have happened on the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month of 1918. President Woodrow Wilson declared in 1919 that November 11th would be Veteran’s Day [established after WWI] as a day to remember all those members of the military who served or died serving our country.

Today the holiday is still a recognized Federal Holiday to recognize and thank those who have served or are currently serving our great country.

When Moo’s school started putting together a Veteran’s Day program, the first person she thought of to recognize was hubby.  She asked him if he would be available this morning for her school program and he told her he’d make it a point to be there.

Earl asked me if I could make it because I was invited too.  I told them heck yeah I’d love to come, so this morning hubby and I headed to Moo’s school for their Veteran’s Day Program.

All of the veterans stood up and introduced themselves, what branch of the military they served and which student invited them there.  The students sang them a few songs and there was a video that was played for them as well.

Chief Warrant Officer McClurg was the guest speaker.  He delivered a wonderful message to the students.

At the end, we all took a moment of silence while they played Taps for the fallen soldiers.  This was such a GREAT program and a great way to teach the students and allow them to appreciate those who have fought so hard for their freedoms.

I’d like to take this time to say Thank YOU to all who have or are currently serving our country!

Including my very special to me husband!

And both my Grandpa’s who served in WWII.

Telling the Families

Telling Hubby:
Well, we learned that I the way I told hubby wasn’t the most creative… remember I walked into the living room, and said, look at this with the pregnancy test in my hand.  Yup, that was it.  His reaction was much better.  He had a plate on his lap and one in his hand.  He threw one on the coffee table in front of him and threw the other on the seat next to him, jumped up and wrapped his arms around me.

Telling Tbug:
I was scared to death to tell Tbug.  I was afraid that she would hate me.  So I chickened out and went to take a shower and left hubby to tell her.  (more…)
